It is spaghetti night at the house and I thought I woud share my homemade spaghetti sauce with you. It is much more satisfying than the store bought sauces and you control what is put in the sauce. I hate to buy things that I can make homeade, have you ever read any of those labels, I guarantee that there is at least one thing you can't pronounce listed as an ingredient.
Here is what you need:
2 small cans of tomato sauce (no spiced version)
1 medium onion
2 medium tomatos (cut in chunks and get the seeds out)
1 can of stewed tomatos
1 tsp of Italian seasoning
1 tsp of Mrs dash's table seasoning
optional items are:
1 bunch of mushrooms sliced
1/2 lb. of ground beef browned and drained
Here's how I put this all together. First I brown the ground beef in a deep skillet and once that gets cooking I add the onions and let them sweat as the ground beef finishes browning. Once this is done drain it. In the same skillet add the 2 cans of tomato sauce and the stew tomato can. I then go ahead and do my italian seasoning and Mrs dash's table blend and mix all together. Let this simmer for about 30 minutes on Medium or till the thickness that you desire, periodically stir this. When you see that this sauce is getting 10 minutes or less away from getting done I would add my mushrooms and stir it up.
this is a big hit at my house and I hope you give it a try.
