Some candidates have ideas that seem nice... innovative even. Except for the anti-war stances. No country survives and prospers by freely giving up land. Pacifists have never won a gun fight.
Martin Luther King had some points, but it is because of the soldier that you have the freedom of speech, it is because of the soldier that we have the freedom of the press, it is because of the soldier that we have the right to assemble, or for the most part any of our so-called god given, inalienable rights.
The businessman ultimately owes his success to the laws and order established at the end of a rifle.
The pacifist talks a good game. Were he alone in the world, maybe his views would flourish, but he is not. There are EVIL people out there who wish to do us harm. That is why we need a strong military. Yes, occasionally, the dogs of war must run. I hope that we will be victorious. A determined enemy is difficult to vanquish. Particularly when we are not trying to destroy infrastructure as a primary goal.
Carpet bombing Dresden was relatively easy. If tasked to, I'm reasonably confident that our JDAMS have been programed with coordinates for the delivery of munitions to many locations. Further battlefields will be more costly. Yet, military planners plan.

Remember, France could be speaking German...
I don't think we've entered any war in which we didn't think our interests would be well served by this action.
I love the supergirl outfit.
The Iraq conflict isn't really a war; it's more akin to weeding your garden. As arrogant and down-looking as that sounds, no reasonable person can deny that the Middle-Eastern demons have never left the Dark Ages. They're still barbarians, and must be dealt with as such.
Just keep one word in mind at all times when thinking of this: "Hitler"
Uh, I think you're mixed up. WHOSE land? And that's exactly what they are doing and they have a right to, just like you said. You crack me up.
Oh spare me. Let's get Marty swept into that monstrous Dresden firestorm too since he sees how easy it was. Yah, I suppose it would be when you are flying around pushing buttons. Wow. What bravery.
WHO is clueless?
Our soldiers have fought and won when we were attacked which they had to do. The "Dogs of War" were unleashed. What "dog or war" was unleased on us by Iraq? None. What "dog of war" is Iran thretening to let loose on us? None.
The only "dog of war" unleashed on the world today is Bush/Cheney & Co. This time we have to win the war with votes not weapons.
Wake up! God is not on America's side! We have installed more nasty dictators in countries than any other entity, and it backfired every time! We supported the Shah or Iran, Saddam Hussein, and Bin Laden!!!!!! It is idiotic to think we can control the world. We are so far in debt now due to our excessive military spending, that we could go bankrupt. Funny how we borrow money from Communist China to fight a false war in Iraq now! I thought the Communists were our enemy because they don't support Democracy? Of course, that went away when our government figured out that they could be a tyranny!!!!
Dave, no wars are lawful. Wars are fought when two (or more) countries have exhausted diplomatic measures.
Bob Dylan said it. You don't count the dead when God's on your side.
And as far as bankruptcy -- we're sitting on 10,000 nuclear weapons, and could sustain ourselves inside our own borders for centuries. Who's going to call in their markers?
