We're hearing how water boarding is torture. Ok what then? I hear how we're mistreating unlawful enemy combatants that are being held in Guantanamo Bay in our attempt to find out if they have information about future attacks. Ok. I hear how water boarding is torture and should not be used to get possible vital information. I listened to a former combat pilot describe how during POW training water boarding was used against him and how during the process he was panicking but that as soon as it was over he was fine.
I'm going to start something here by saying that I hear how the rights of the inmates are being denied. Well I'm not sure that I agree that. I think they are not American citizens and thus do not fall under the Bill of Rights. What do you think?
Next. The Geneva Convention. Since they are not part of any military and do not wear the uniform of any countries military and as such do not fall under the guidelines of the Geneva Convention. Once again what are your thoughts?
I hear constantly how torture is wrong but I ask you where does it end. Is denying hostage takers comfort and making them uncomfortable torture? Interrupting sleep patterns? Causing disorientation ? Where do you draw the line?
If these techniques are torture then I would like to hear what you feel would be acceptable methods for gaining the information from these people.
So what do you feel are proper techniques for gaining information that could potentially save American lives?

I will also say even if they were soldiers I still do not have a problem with it. If you are in a war you do anything to protect soldiers and the interests of the country. You do what you need to to get the information that could save lives. Do you think countries that we have gone to war with us care about the Geneva Convention? No. Ask anyone who was at the Hanoi Hilton.
I never said that they didn't have rights but I do believe that we have a right to protect our own first.
Again what "Holy Land" did I refer too?
I did ask what techniques for getting intel you would approve? Should we take them out to a four star restaurant and over dinner ask them to please tell us what we want to know?
I'm not suggesting that they be burned or have electrodes attatched to body parts or many other true torture techniques, but you do need to use some sort of technique to get intel from them.
So again I ask WHAT DO YOU APPROVE OF TO GET INTEL FROM THEM?
In regards to your article, well done. The fact that we even talk about it shows that we have a conscience - and that's a good thing.
And if it bothers him that I like my country more than others, oh well.
