So I was out on my usual hike today, down to Ballard Park, then down Hazard Rd. to Gooseneck Cove. then over to the "country lane" loop. not much wildlife because the wind is up today and they're all staying under cover. So I focused on Fall colors for today's photos.
There was nothing new in Ballard Park except a Nuthatch. Unfortunately he was flitting around too much for me to get a decent shot. So down Hazard Rd. to Gooseneck Cove, where these Fall foliage shots were taken, as well as the Mallards who were keeping a wary eye on me.

Farther on I came to some more interesting Fall foliage shots on Beacon Hill Rd., on the "country lane" leg of the hike.

And at the end of Beacon Hill Rd., just down from where it intersects Brenton Rd., was this pumpkin display at the entrance to a driveway:

And that's today's hike. Enjoy!

thanks for the great picture essay....I don't think I ever went on that particular hike but I have been to Newport a few times. I've always loved the stone walls in the New England area too...thanks again
Bob, Noel (or what's left of him) is blowing outside my window as I type. The leaves seem to be holding on, but I understand the worst is yet to come. We'll see.
