Visiting Dawes Arboretum In Autumn - A Photo Essay

If you are traveling in central Ohio you may want to visit Dawes Arboretum  located about 30 miles east of Columbus on Rte. 13 near Jacksontown, Ohio. Mine was a fall visit and I can imagine how beautiful this park must be in other seasons. I did not have as much time to spend there as I would have liked so the photos you see are are just a taste of this 1700 acre park.

 

If you tilt your head a little you may be able to read the hedge lettering that spells out Dawes Arboretum.

 

 

 

 

 

This is Dawes Lake 

 

 

I love this Red Sunset Maple 

 

 

and the colors of this Burning Bush 

 

 

I saw some lovely picnic sites. 

 



 

 

This is a pond near the Japanese Rock Garden. I would love to return in the spring and see the cherries trees blossoming there.

I love that picture of Dawes Lake... it sure fits in with the water pictures I've been seeing on Gather the last few days... I could see myself sitting under that pine tree, watching the play of light on the water.
