Don't be caught without a topic!
On the radio, whoaa-oohh:
- Don Imus will be back on the air (NPR)
- Indian leaders win concessions from KQRS (MPR)
- According to The Splendid Table's Web Producer (and my cube neighbor) Jeff Harkness, this is the week Jane and Michael Stern "are boning up on their hip-hop" and invoke the term krunk...with a K. *coughing* They're talking about a fish sandwich. I think I'll have to hear it to believe it.
Politics:
- South Carolina shrugs at Colbert (MPR's Polinaut - Comment away, Bob Collins thrives on your words.)
- "Sen. Norm Coleman called Rudy Giuliani 'ultimately electable,'" (MPR) That's "electable," to you sassy readers out there.
- There's a great photo of Minneapolis City Council Member Gary Schiff on Halloween. Does your city council member have a sense of humor? (Aaron Landry via Flickr)
Mix & Match:
- Can't sleep, digital marketers will eat our kid's social network information (Marketplace commentary)
- The Vikings come from the land of ice and snow! According to MPR's Tom Scheck, Andy Saur's Vikings quest (MPR) has succeeded and Zepplin's "Immigrant Song" filled the Metrodome dome dome. Hat tip, The News Grid
- Best for last: Deer cams showing up on hunting trails (MPR) Discuss.

2. "Electable" a term that will be used quite often in the next year because of the current batch of candidates on BOTH sides.
3. I don't take the Minneapolis City Council seriously the other 364 days a year either.
4. Marketers are watching adults too. What you respond to on Gather goes right to Google.
5. The Vikings need help. Different music won't help avoid TV blackouts. Bring back Hub Meeds. Hey, there's a story! They got the new "Viktor" mascott and the tired "Ragnar" , what's Hub's opinion of the lame marketing?
6. Deer cams? Fish cams? I don't hunt but I do fish. Fish still won't bite, even if you see them. Could we put deer cams in the metro area to get rid of the deer?
No talk about Springsteen? Is his voice shot? He can't sing the low and soft notes. The soft parts now have been replaced by a growl or yelp. And he only plays for 2 hours now.
1. You'll have to call South Carolina about that.
2. "electable" can be confused with "delectable" if you read it too fast
3. Sassy alert!
4. But we're adults who may or may not remember a time of personal privacy. Thoughts?
5. I'll forward your coverage suggestion on to News. Seriously.
6. Not sure if metro deer cams would take off, but geese cams might.
As for Springsteen, I've heard ___________. [Read: nothing.] But hey...
The Current dj Mac Wilson is doing a blog series on "The River"

The River is great piece, recomended listening.
I have never hunted and don't intend to, but it seems like some of the modernizations have taken a lot away from the experience of the hunt.
