Ok, so some of you had asked how our anniversary was. Thanks for your interest!
When I got home from work friday, my mother-in-law and 2 of her young boys were at the house helping my hubby clean while he cooked supper for me (and yes, he did it all by himself!). So they left and we had supper together. He made mexican casserole, bought mandarin oranges (i love them!) and doritos and dr pepper. When supper was over, my mom and my sister showed up to babysit for the night and we left for the hotel. We took showers and then went swimming. It was an indoor pool and the water was perfect! We stayed up until like 4 in the morning. We ordered p'zones from pizza hut and watched t.v. I felt like a little kid because we watched "the suite life of zach & cody" "hannah montana" "ella enchanted" and some of "charlie's angels". For a gift, he had gotten me some strawberry bubble bath (my favorite) and a vanilla candle. I hadn't had a bath since before Khloe was born and probably not in over a year. It was AWESOME!! Then, he lit the candle and we gave each other massages with warming oil stuff. The next day (which was actually our anniversary) we slept in for a while but we had to be out of our hotel by noon. We went to IHOP where we ordered new york cheesecake pancake meals (YUM!!). My mom had taken Khloe (our daughter) back to her house which is about a 25 min drive from ours. My parents were coming in to town so they offered to bring her home around 5:30-5:45 pm. We had a couple of hours before she got home so I took a nap then did the few dishes that we had (my mom had also done some cleaning while she was at the house). I was soooo glad to see my baby again, especially since she came down with a cold Friday morning. She had not slept a lot or eaten much while she was away from me and she started crying when she came home. After a little while she calmed down and nursed then she felt a lot better but she wouldn't sleep yet. I think she was afraid we'd leave her again, poor baby! On Sunday, the weather was absolutely gorgeous. We had planned to have a cook-out on Saturday but it was cold and windy. So at noon, we headed out to Mike's parents' house where nobody was home. My mom had given us some fresh steak and hamburgers to grill. We sat outside and put the baby down on a blanket to explore. Mike had never grilled before because his dad always did it. So I showed him how. It was DELICIOUS!! I grew up having grilled steak every summer but the last two summers I didn't live with my parents anymore and I really missed having grilled steak! So altogether, we had a wonderful 1st anniversary.
For a gift, I got my husband some boxers, some lingerie for me, and wrote this poem:
to my husband, my love
it was a year ago when we nervously said our vows,
to love and to cherish, then you became my spouse.
i thought i loved you back then, but now i really know:
you're the love of my life (even when it doesn't show).
some moments we've cherished together,
and some storms we've had to weather.
we've grown a lot the last year,
and grown closer to each other.
this year was the first of many, many more,
i'm so excited to see what God has in store.
i love you.
and like the poem says, I can't wait to see what the future holds for us!

Your poem is beautiful and I believe that he will cherish it forever - I think that was the greatest gift you could have given him (other than yourself) :o)
