I called Kay B. Hutchinson's (Texas) office and they have said she has not stated an opinion on the Law of the Sea yet, so I let him have my "we the people think..." so he can pass it on to her...

Let your voice be heard, as my father told the voters when he was running for State office, I care not if you vote for me, at least Vote...

Well M Emmett you are correct, this treaty limits the unilateral power of the United States to decide who gets to operate in international waters. It also expands territorial limits for all nations from 3 to 12 miles off shore. It provides limited jurisdiction for 200 miles off shore. Almost all NATO countries have already ratified the treaty. More than 120 nations have signed on. The treaty is strongly supported within the US, and the opposition you referenced includes the American Enterprise Institute, an organization that helped to bring us the invasion of Iraq, and strongly supports the Bush Doctrine of Domination.
You're absolutely correct, the treaty constrains American Corporations from operating with US protection within 200 miles of any coast not under the jurisdiction of the USA. It also provides a legal framework for the United States to maintain control over fishing and seabed mining operations in the Caribbean and for 200 miles offshore on both the Atlantic and Pacific. It strengthens international control over fishing and mining rights on the "open" oceans, allowing for environmental and exploitation of resources in regions under international control.

It also means that If say Velero Oil had two spots it liked to drill oil in in the ocean they would have to go to this panel, and then the panel can say yes sure site #1 you can drill and site two drill also but it is ours and all oil proceeds from it must be turned over to the UN.....

They can Tax plain flights that cross international oceans and etc...

Getting the picture oh and also they can outlaw any subs ie our milatary, from using the Oceans...

And that group that you mention as a Bush supporter, well they are fighting it, but guess what Bush is NOT fighting it so who is he working for? you can't have it both ways he is there guy or he is not not both...

this needs to be stopped...just because the Navy (some of them) currently think the UN will not use this law against us does not mean this will not another weapon in their later arsenal...
