An Ode to Elsie Duggan

Of poetry I'm clueless.

I seldom write the things.

But try my hand in vain today

And pray good cheer it brings.

Acquaintances we meet each day,

And most they come and go.

But every now and then just one

We'd like to truly know.

And so we listen and we learn,

And laugh, encourage, cry...

Betwixt the words, the smiles, the frowns,

We comprehend the why.

Our world it's fraught with drama, strife...

A layout for remorse.

But God sends angels now and then

To keep us plum on course

They don't wear wings or halos bright,

But manifest the norm.

And steady ups and downs and rounds;

Demystify the storm.

An angel's here among us, friends.

She graces us each day.

Her smile, her words of kindness

Count for more than I can say.

So join with me in wishes sweet

To honor her this day,

And make it heard November 1st

Is Elsie Duggan Day!

Kimberly, I really don't know what to say, except thank you from the bottom of my heart, I love your poem , it touches me very deeply, I never expected the response from my little thing last night, but I guess my talking about myself all over let everyone know it was my birthday, and I share it with so many here. the date I mean, I have no words, for once, just thank you Kimberly.
