What are the scariest movies of all time? The Chicago Film Critics Association asked its members this question and, based on their answers, came up with a list of 100. It was no surprise to me that Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) was at the top of the list. To this day, I can't shower in a motel without the scene in which Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) stabs Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) replaying before me.
Quite possibly the best psychological thriller ever made, as well as the most scary movie, Psycho grabs hold of the viewer from its opening shots of the Phoenix, Arizona, skyline and never lets go until the final scene in which Marion's car is pulled from a swamp. If you've never seen this movie masterpiece, you owe it to yourself to watch it the next time you rent a movie. Just don't watch it alone in a motel.

Birds also scared me, the ominious looming of those birds, silently watching, lurking, etc.
