What would you make with the following list of five ingredients?
1. roma tomatoes

3. collard greens
4. flat iron steaks
5. orange marmalade
You also get to use water, salt and pepper, oil and up to three other ingredients.
Can you be stumped?

Extra ingredients: flour, yeast, eggs
I would make a bread dough out of the flour, yeast, eggs, water and salt and form it into pita rounds.
The flank steak I would marinate in a little of the yogurt, salt and pepper and slice thin and cook in the oil. I would then prepare a "Mock Gyro" with the cooked steak, tomatoes, and a yogurt sauce made with yogurt, salt, pepper and just a hint of the marmalade for sweetness. The greens would simply be boiled, and a drizzle of oil, salt and pepper and served on the side.
Balsamic- added ingredient #1
Salt pork- added ingredient #2
Divide yogurt in half. Dice romas. Add to one half of yogurt, balsamic, plus salt and pepper.
Add balsamic and orange marmalade to remaining yogurt. Slather over steaks to marinate.
In a large pot, cover greens with water, balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper. Add pork. Cook til tender.
Grill steaks. Serve with yogurt sauce and greens.
Disclaimer: I would not eat this combination.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN, SHANNON.
I always love looking at your recipes and have always enjoyed the ones I tried out. My husband too. And a couple of nights ago I actually purchased a crock pot. So little by little I'm getting there. Still haven't gotten a bread machine, but can make bread the old fashioned way, so don't miss out on that one.
Happy Halloween, Lynn.
And I thank you for your kind words. And you know something, I use my bread machine more to make the dough, rather than cooking anything in it anymore. The oven is WAY better. And speaking of that, I need to find a recipe for some bread for tonight's dinner.
Same here, Sue. And having to dig the blade out of the bottom on occasion.
Maybe we could do a "Stump Melba" and post REALLY simple things like pasta, Prego and some cheese or something.

Can you be stumped? Not really. I'll pass on the extra ingredients too.
I'll marinate the steak in the orange marmalade before tossing it on the grill for about 4 to 5 minutes each side.
The collard greens will be steaming in a pot of water after I have chopped them. Once cooked thoroughly, I'll take them off the stove and let the greens cool. After they have cooled, I'll mixed them with the plain yougurt.
The tomatoes will be sliced and sprinkled with salt and pepper. Then card stacked on the plate. The greens and yougurt mixture will be spread on top of the tomatoes.
Well done!
You make cooking seem so easy and glamourous. Thanks for keeping us lively!
Thanks, Paula!

4. flat iron steaks
5. orange marmalade
6. onion
7. soy sauce
8. dark chocolate
Turn the steak through a meat grinder and make patties. Marinate them for a few hours with a mixture of soy sauce and orange marmalade.
Cut the collard greens into very thin strips. Fry gently with a little olive oil.
Cut the Romas into thin slices and add to the greens. Stir together carefully. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Grill the marinated patties. Salt lightly when done, if desired.
Serve the patties with the vegetable by the side.
Mix marmalade with yogurt. Serve as dessert with a little chocolate grated over the top.
Enjoy!
Slice the tomatoes and set aside.
Cut the collard greens into thin STRIPS.
Heat a little oil in a large skillet or a wok. Saute the green strips for about 1 minute, or until wilted.
Place the steak and greens on a plate. Place the sliced tomatoes on top of the wilted greens.
Stir together the yogurt, marmalade, a little cilantro, a tiny pinch of ground red pepper and use as a sauce atop the steak and tomatoes.
Absolutely fantastic ideas! If I was giving out an award, you'd get it.
Pulse till pureed. Check results.
Bleah.
Utilize additional ingredients at this time being a 1)cell phone or lap top and 2) the number for the local pizza shop. 3) Extra cheese is essential.
Sorry, Shannon! couldn't resist! but those posts are really great and imaginative.I can only go for the cheap (hopefully!) laughs
Where's the yogurt and greens, Denise?
