Dissapointed in Gather

Ok, so I posted a couple of weeks ago that I had ordered my gift card. Then, I received something from gather in the mail but I have no way of knowing what it was because the envelope had NEVER BEEN SEALED!! I sent the following e-mail to gather yesterday and have yet to hear back from them. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get a reply?

Note: also included in the email were the transaction #, my phone #, and my email address.

Email sent to earnings@gather.com: 

I ordered a $10 gift card on October 16th for Uncommon Goods. Today, October 29th, I received an empty envelope from Gather in the mail. It did not appear to have been sealed when it was sent, and I have no idea what was supposed to be in the envelope. If this was supposed to be my gift card, how do I go about getting a new one? If I need to, I can return the envelope inside another envelope so that you can verify that it was never sealed.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on how to go about getting my gift card if it was in that envelope?

It's probably because they were too busy investigating alter egos and trying to deflag all the unnecessarily flagged content to actually lick the envelope.

Deeanna, I would contact Gather and tell them what happened. I have received my gift cards a couple of times in envelopes that were barely sealed. The gift card should be in an Orange folder in side the envelope. It couldhave fallen out though mine have been stuck with paper cement to the folder. Gather needs to be more diligent in properly sealing their envelopes.

I would keep contacting them, or even try to contact some of the gather guides to see what they say. It seems like everyone here was getting their gift cards in about 10 days to 2 weeks lately.

I think this happened with my Borders card for giving them fine names. I didn't see any easy resolution so let it go and moved on.

I am sorry that you worked so hard and then the mail room let you down. All I can think to do is post you concerns to the Gather Guides and see if they have a solution or recommendation.

Deeanna...I would give Gather a couple of days to respond back to you. If you don't hear back from them in a couple of days, I would write them again. I can imagine how disappointing this must be after all of your hard work, but hopefully it will be resolved soon!

It should be no problem for them to re issue a card. I know on the back of some gift cards it has a number to call for lost or stolen. So I think gather should be able to get you a different one.

I am sorry this has happened though. I know how it feels. I have actually had mail get STOLEN from my mailbox so most of the time now I get my mail sent to my parents house. They live in a nicer area and no one messes with their mail.

Deeanna, it took Gather a few days to reply to an email I sent them--but I did get a real reply eventually, not an automated one. Best of luck on getting this sorted out.

But...now I'm wondering if this is why it is taking so long for my gift card to get to me...was it stolen?

That's bad, i guess if you found it in your mail box and someone just had broken into it. well, another thing that gather should offer gift certificates redeemable online and can be used as printed coupons.
So bad it happened.

It's the first time I have heard about this, but I can understand how this would happen, as I also have had some lightly sealed envelopes from Gather. I agree with Cheryl, give them a few days to respons, as they can be quite busy at times. I hope they will fix this for you soon. Please give us an update, when you have news.

Deanna, I received an envelope in the mail that wasn't sealed and nothing was in it. It was from my doctor so I called the office and they didn't know what happened. It may just be an oversight. Good luck in finding your mail.

That is very careless on their part. I received my first one today (besides the one for the referrals). I can't believe the envelope was not sealed!!! Yikes! That would make me angry!
