Daily Whine and Shine - October 30, 2007

Just read that Chinese officials claim the food they export is 95% to 100% safe but for their own people it is under 80%. Made me really glad to be an American, as disappointing as some things are right now.

My Grandson Packed up and moved out tonight.

he gets drunk spends his whole check ,then hung over wants to rant and fight with me then scream at his Mom he will die if she does not give him money each day for gas and Mickey D's

Now his work is walking distance I cook his breakfast lunch (2 fresh cooked boneless chicken breasts )and Dinner and always have home baked snacks on hand.

I kept saying I won't fight I love you...He through a container of yogert at me it went every where I got up said he must clean it now and took a shower.He cleaned it then went out till his mom got home started screaming he had to leave or he would go to jail for abuse I hadn't even whimpered he didn't hurt me,only with words,a bit.

just wanted to rant and this is where to do that I hope

Jules, yikes! I think you came to the right place to rant. I think you are doing the right thing. From what I know of "out of control" actions like this, the person hates what they do and what they say (most of the time). By having him clean up, you had him take ownership of his problems. And you were right to walk away from him. Good for you!!

This has got to be stressful for you! Glad you came in tonight! I hope you feel better after posting. I often do.



When Worry Gets Out of Control: GAD

Well, my day has gone very well so far. It is almost 11 am and I had my son's IEP meeting. It went well. This time, no one told me that he was stupid. All they did was say what we really needed to focus on and so many of my ideas are going to be used this year. Thank God!

I am in pain, my shoulder will not stop hurting. I have numbness in my right hand, and some small bumps appearing near my right elbow. Not sure what those are but I know that they are annoyingly itchy.

My brain seems even more foggy today. But I could bring up some good ideas and good points about my son. So, I guess it is not completely foggy.

About to do some grocery shopping and send out some mail, including a box to my oldest in GA. She'll like that it is being sent.

Jules, yes, as a teen his attitude changed and that is why he is acting like you'd never know him. You are doing right! Did you say that he had moved out? Will it last long or will he be begging to come back very shortly? So sorry that you and daughter have to go thru this rough spell.

Marilyn, I am glad that we eat American imports too. Yuck in the countries that we import from.

The sun is just coming up here so my day is just begun. I am so sorry with the troubles with your grandson Jules. This is a very tough time for everyone. My son went through a period of becoming a stranger. He is now 25 and things are better again. It is very hard to set boundaries at this age and yet they are still not adults as evident by behavior. You did the best you could by not playing into his rage. It would only excalatr a nad situation. Have you tried talking to consulers ar clergy? SOmetimes just talking to someone not so connected can help.

Dian, I am a firem believer in foot reflexology. A good foot rub can do wonders for pains throughout your body. Thouhg not as nice as having someone rub your feet, you can do the work yourself. Begin with your left foot a press firmly in the center with the top of your thum, applying a fair amount of pressure for about 10-20 seconds. Start going around in circular motions making a bigger rotation as you go. Do this for several mins. to get the blood circulating. Then massage the area just below the ball of your foot. This is where the shoulder is located. (Repeat on the other foot.)

I would go through the whole massagr but it would take up way too much room! :)

Sometimes the people we love just don't remember the love they have been given and they need it more then than ever before but they cannot accept it. All we can do is continue to love them and wait for them to come back for the connection. You cannont force them to remember and feel because something is blocking their ability to receive you love at the moment but love quietly and continuously so when they come back, the love you are emitting for them is a beacon to bring them home. The lighthouse does not follow the ships along the shore but they sustain the light for those coming close enough to make out the light.

Oh, Jules. Bless your heart. The good thing is that he realized he was out of control and left. I'm sorry you're going through this. You bet you can come here anytime.

Get ready for my rant. I work with ungrateful co-workers, who for whatever reason feel that I will come to their rescue whenever they feel like dogging their responsibilities and BTW still owe me for favors for getting them out a jam by rearranging my schedules, giving up my days off and filling in for them when they conveniently forget about appts or just don't want to work (usually for some lame reason like they are tired, have a party to go to, or don't feel good), but that is about to end since someone is getting fired very soon.

I don't know what to do about my daughter, who never wants to take responsibility for any of her decisions and or admit that she was wrong. Of course, everyone blames me for not taking care of this matter before it got this out of control, which I have admitted several times I do take partial responsibility for it, but I am the only one trying to some kind of progress forward with little help. Now, I have to contend with my daughter's father, who has pretty much neglected her most of her life and now wants to have a relationship with her to prove to her that he cares and loves her.

Car problems continue and so far have costed me probably close to $650 in repairs (parts and labor), not to mention the gas trying to locate and pick up the parts. I happen to have a car that has either discontinued parts and or have to be special ordered from the dealership, which BTW they don't know if they can even get the part and want to charge me quite a bit. The good news is that I finally know what the problem is, but it is going to cost me either $150-$200 to thoroughly clean out the valve, which might alleviate the problem or spend $250 for the part plus labor that will end up costing me about $350. I hate cars!

I am going to whine today, as I found out that my sister has breast cancer. It is going to be a very difficult rough fight ahead of her. I can only hope that she will beat this cancer like she did the cervical cancer that she had fifteen years ago.

OH, what horrible news! I hope that she does well and beats this! I will say a prayer for her.

Diana, I'm sorry you're having such a bad time with job and car. Bless your heart.

I went to the doctor to have my port flushed and it turned out pretty good till I almost passed out from a head rush I got from the med they put in it to keep it open so that the port works when I have to be hooked up to I.V. meds in the hospital. With my head cold and the med they use to keep my port open with it was not one of my better days. Could have been worse mom said as bad as I look with looking weak eyed from being sick she was shocked they did not put me in the hospital again. Had she been there they may have but with her down from her surgery my neice Amanda took me so I just kept my mouth shut. I may end up regretting doing it but mom needs to get over this surgery before we start having to run back and forth to the hospital again with me. I am thinking this winter I will be in there enough anyway so I am better off the longger I put it off. He did say if I did wind up back in to have them call him and he'd fix the port so I will not go balistic on the nurses like last time. But thank heaven he is listening to me unlike the hospital here does.

I'm glad you didn't end up hospitalized, Angela. There are some times, I think, when folks are better off recuperating at home.

Thanks Marilyn! People tell me that things cannot get any worse and or it has to turn around eventually, but until then I will do the same thing I always do hold my head up and go on with my life.

Wow everybody. To those who are having troubles: hope it gets better. My cell phone's about to be cut off for nonpayment and although I've invoiced a client, I don't know when I'll get paid. Could be a month!

Diana, a pastor of the church hubby and I used to attend had a sermon story about bird poop. Actually, it was about things going wrong and at each step of the way the guy was told by everyone that it couldn't get any worse...and it did. When the last bad thing happened and the guy knew there was nothing else that could possibly happen, he lifted his eyes towards heaven and shouted at God and the sky, "Well, God, are you happy now? My day, my life is ruined with all the bad things that happened today. But at least I know there is nothing more that can happen." With that a bird flew by and pooped on the guy's face. Now when hubby and I start thinking maybe there's nothing more that could go wrong, we just say, "bird poop."

But I do pray that things will turn around for you.

To be honest they would not have done anything in that hospital mom did not know how to do for me anyway and the way I see it Andrea needs took care of right now and i can not do that if I am stuck in the hospital. Found out late yesterday they want her to have a MRI. I just thank heaven they are seeming to be going to look over this farther before they rush in to any judgment of what is wrong with her. I do addmitt to being jumpy every time the phone rings scared to death it will be my sister saying my neice had another seizure. It scares me out of my mind when the phone rings.
