What is our responsibility to the world around us? How much responsibility should we take for our community and the problems we see on the news? What does Jesus mean in Matthew 25? Should we take his words literally, or is there a spiritual need or both?
These are questions I've been wrestling with lately. It's great to know that there are organizations out there that help. The Ohio MRDD helps with Ohio MRDD Supported Living among other things. It's great to have organizations like this because not everyone can live here, but what is our role? What should we do? We must strongly consider Jesus' words.

We all have responsibility to our community and the world around us, but the problem lies with how we handle the responsibility. Matthew 25 is more than how we handle responsibility but how we take care of our abilities and responsibilities. How you define your responsibilities and talents is inside you. What if the servant took the money bestowed on him and gave it to the poor and had nothing? The parables are meant for Christians to look inside themselves and to Jesus. We are not perfect and will always fall short but when we keep our eyes ahead on the Jesus, his grace will forgive our shortcomings.
