Regarding Gather Points

From the Gather earnings page:

Earn Cash

Gather's top contributors can earn cash instead of Gather Points! To qualify, you need to earn $50 (about 3,000 points) per month. You can cash out as often as you'd like. We'll send you either a check or PayPal® payment.

For the purposes of achieving the invitation to choose the cash option: It just occurred to me that I may be misinterpreting a "month". Is it a calendar month or "30 days' time"?

I would think it's whenever you started and then 30 days out from there? Perhaps an anniversary date?

Are you cutting it that close? Just go for it! Pretend it's 30 days and if it's 31 days you can take a day off! ; ^)

I think sometimes too that it isn't simply one time of accomplishing this goal...sometimes it takes a couple of times before you receive the invitation. Someone correct me if I am wrong about that...

How many hours of gathering does it take to generate 3,000 points? How many hours for the first 100 points? How many hours for the 2901 - 3000th points? Does anyone know? Gather is pretty vague about how the whole point system works.

C'mon. You know they can't tell! If they did we'd all get the big bucks!

I got over 3,000 points by posting photos, videos, articles, and comments. I have no idea how much time I spent, though... Wasn't really that much.

I haven't made it to 3,000 but I have been a member for a month now and I already sent for a $25 gift card and have another 550 points. I imagine if I spent more time on here I could do the 3,000 in a month. Not sure how it all works though .. so can't help with your question!

I must be doing something wrong.. I feel like i'm commenting all over the place and I'm posting stuff too.. but nowhere near 3000 points. I could hit 3000 in about 3 months at the rate I'm going lol

Yeah, it takes me a long time to get points too and I feel like I am pretty active on here. I have no idea how the whole thing works.

It's a calendar month. I got the cash option about 9 months ago, and only because there was a photo contest going on and I had a LOT of pictures entered and got a LOT of votes and comments. I know points from promotions don't count toward the 3K now, so I'm honestly not sure how anyone can get to 3K without being on Gather ALL the time.
