Putting up tents, oh my!
Following directions to no avail.
Sleep at night.
Oh no it rains!
Go for a ride on a horse.
This is so much fun!
In the saddle I go.
Oops, fall head over heels!
Time for burgers and hot dogs, yummy!
Let us start the coals.
Hey, my food isn't cooking?
Off we go to the grocery store.
It's getting a bit chilly.
Need to start a campfire.
Smores every one yells.
But the fire keeps going out?
Arise at dawn.
The sun is shining bright!
Oh, but it is so cold.
Yikes, no sweatshirts to wear!
Time to pack to go home.
There is so much to do!
This was a lot of work.
But, oh the memories we made!

Great poem honey, made me smile and brought back some wonderful memories! LY
Yes, it is getting a bit chilly now to head out and camp for me too! Brrrrr...LOL!
My sister and I have been camping together starting with our children over 20 years ago. She was a divorced mom and my husband worked in the summer. We made a whole whack of memories. We still camp together and enjoy our adult children dropping in for a sleepover or a longer stay.
You may want to check out a couple of my older articles that are related to camping.
Thank you for your comment on my Bittersweet.
You asked about bittersweet. I don't know if it will grow in Mn. or not. If you ask at your local plant place they would know. We can buy it here in the spring right along with all the other nursery products.
Watch out though, some idiot thought a hybrid that didn't have those awful berries on it was the way to go...dumb. I almost bought one untill I read the fine print and it said fruitless... I love bittersweet and I love that fact it can freeze and the wind can blow but the berries stay on the vines (I make wreaths)
I am certainly am going to ask my nursery next spring on the bittersweet. I would love to grow them for the wreaths they can make. You pay an arm and a leg for them around here for the dried! Thanks for the tip on the fruitless ones. Will keep my eye out for the fine print.
I liked your verse.
Thank you both so much for commenting. I can also tell you both like to camp at one time. You really must give it a try again. Tara, maybe there would be a better time to tent in FL. in a season that isn't so hot for you there?
Wendy, as a child my family often would camp too and those are some of the best memories I have a child. Your children will always remember those time also.
It may be a lot of work but what memories your make from these oops during the way.
My dh and son have been enjoying camping because of Rangers and BoyScouts. They'd never been before that. My few experiences with camping were years ago but they were not a great joy at all. One of the times it rained so hard a stream appeared out of nowhere and ran thru the middle of the tent.
We do talk about going as a family to see how we'd do but we haven't braved it yet.
I'm kind of a hotel with an indoor pool and forays into the wilderness so that I can go back into my room when I'm tired and relax!
That surprised me.
So, you don't have to love the lumpy ground and walking a mile to go to the bathroom and the bugs crawling in and out of your sleeping bag to like camping???
hmmmm.
perspective, I need perspective.
in the summer?
(un)sanitary facility. It was certainly a memorable experience.
Oh Jan you really should give it a go. Camp areas have improved much nowadays.:)
I strictly camp in the summer and fall! Forget those winter months. They are not for me!
You camp and you write and you eat your cinnamon rolls with relish.
wait a minute that sounded funny, not with pickle relish but with pizzazz!
:)
I hope you are enjoying fall or is it already winter in MN?
