Medal Of Honor not news worthy?

October 13, 2007 -- Every major daily paper in New York took note of President Bush's deci sion to bestow the first Medal of Honor of Operation Enduring Freedom on Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy - a Long Islander who gave his life for his country and his fellow SEALs.

Every paper but one, that is.

By now many have heard about operation Redwing and it's tragic and heroic outcome. However for some reason the New York Times did not deem the awarding of our countries highest award to be newsworthy. Why is that? Lt. Michael Murphy - a Long Islander for some unknown reason did not rate even a passing comment by the Times. Apparently his actions were nothing of merit and thus deserved no notce by the Times. Well as far as I am concerned it's just as well because I think it would be lowering Lt. Michael Murphy by having his name in the Times.

I'm going to end this by saying to Lt. Michael Murphy the same final words he used

thanks and very well said the media does not care about the positive in the world they care only about killing and death because thats where they get thier ratings.others wonder why our world is so down in the dumps and so negitve

To me this is a great injustice, to the honorable soldier himself, and to the American public, who wants to know their heroes. How insensitive to our Military everywhere, to not acknowledge his great sacrfice, and refuse to pay Him respect. Really horrible. Thanks for letting us know this, I just may never read the "Times", ever again. This is too much. And God Bless His Family. Forever. Ellen B
