Welcome all Poets and Writers members and anyone who should find this poem.
"Aim at being loved without being admired."
Ludwig Wittgenstein
Leafing Through Life
Leaves are dashed to the ground
Like wasted dreams; the colors
Fading in the torrents of tears
Shed for hope unfulfilled
A brilliant display of artistic
Genius swept into the drain
Clogging the free flowing
Storm water on its way to sea
Life flashes brightly on the
Family tree and then is snuffed
Out in the eternal cycle of
Budding, blooming and falling asleep
I will not regret all my summer days
Lolling about, sipping lemonade,
Feeling the breeze, tiptoeing through
Raspberry canes picking velvet fruit
I'm making hay while the sun shines
Keeping my channel clear, words flow
In and out of my soul touching others,
Refreshing, tempting, soothing
