Graveyard Scavenger Hunt- Statues

Time for another interesting trip to the cemetary.  This weeks theme is statues. I found some interesting ones and some sad ones too.The image “http://media-files.gather.com/images/d823/d435/d744/d224/d96/f3/full.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

 

This one stands on a pillar about 20 ft tall and looks over the cemetary

This is another very tall one and one of my favorites

This fellow watches over the fallen heros circle

This is has had its hand broken off by jerks.

This one was set on fire and decapitated, to me to destroy a headstone is just evil.

I saved the best one for last.  There is just something about this one that I love.

Some of the graves have been decorated for fall.  These flowers are my favorites.

And of course no visit is complete with out a photo or 20 of my furry friends .

An hour is never enough time to spend exploring here. Hope you enjoy my scavanger hunt find and the few little extras I threw in there.

I'm with you about the people who vandalize our cemeteries or anything else for that matter.

you photos are lovely
I had every intention of photographing graveyard things, but the smoke from the California fires has drifted our way and now I cannot go outside. Maybe when it all settles I'll get my chance.

Very nice photos, Angela. I agree with your comment about destroying tombstones. That's pretty messed up. You should join my group "All Photo Essays Here" and post this and all future photo essays to it. This one is awesome.

I can't believe I missed this!

These are some wonderful finds. The painted man is very unusual and the burned and broken one is incredibly sad. I never did understand vandals.
