Ok so I am feeling lucky today ... and extremely greatful :)
I found a new doctor after my last one tried to force on me a medication that would hurt my unborn baby. So I had my first appointment with him today. He was a very sweet old man. His office staff seemed really nice. They had me answer some questions and fill out some paperwork. Then I went into a room and a little bit later the doctor came in. We talked for a while and he said he wants me to lower my salt intake and start a new blood pressure medication. Then he asked me to come back in for a series of blood work and tests. Then we talked some more. The doctor asked me if me and my kids are going to church anywhere. Then he pulls out a card for his church and invites me to bring the kids and come to church with him and his family on sunday! He said he can't sit with us because he is in the choir but his family can. I just thought that was so sweet of him. Strange but sweet. Then he told me his office does all their own tests. If there is an afterhours emergency he says to call his office and if it is for stitches or something someone will meet you at the office to do them and what not. He says he or someone from the office can be reached 24/7 .. 365! So he seems like a cool doctor to have.
When I left the doctors office I drove by my new house. The basement is done for the most part. When I drove by there were men working. They were finishing up the water proofing of the basement and getting it ready for the floors to be installed. They now have the habitat storage vehicles there and they are moving along! things are finally getting done on my house! YIPPIE!!!!
After this I head to work. I get to work and my boss has a friend in the office. They were heading to lunch together. They asked me "would you like something for lunch too?" So they left and had lunch together. A little while later they came back by and dropped off some chinese food for me! Yum Yum yum .. I love chinese food! I felt like it was my lucky day. Then I opened my fortune cookie and it said "a good way for you to relax this weekend is to go out and watch a movie" This was facinating to me since I won some movie tickets earlier this week to see the new Saw movie tomorrow with the people from the radio station and the other winners. So how cool is that?
When I won the tickets for the new SAW movie I also got entered into a drawing to try to win $2,000 on November 2nd. I am so hoping I will win this! I know the chances are slim but this would be of a great help to me. I still have to pay the down payment for my house and pay for the insurance and all that stuff .... so I am praying I will win! :)
So I feel lucky today! Anyone else feel lucky?

It really does sound like you had a great day Dena, and I really think you deserve it. Good luck with the new doctor, and with the pregnancy, I hope everything with your blood pressure will get better soon.
It is so important to have an OB that you are comfortable with. When I had my son, I was new to the area we lived in, and went with one that was highly recommended. I really should never have done that. She was horrible. She was rude, inconsiderate, and refused to do a C-Section when my son pinched his umbilicle cord and his heart rate dropped to less than 20 (for several hours, I might add- her "fix" was to give me oxygen, which didn't help if he wasn't getting it!). I hated her. I was uncomfortable, I couldn't stand going in for an appointment.. just horrid. I've since heard that she pretty much got chased out of town. The hospital refused to give her delivery rights, and the hospital to the north & the to the south also refused. She packed up and left town.
i'm feeling somewhat lucky because my husband has needed new shoes for a couple of months but they were still wearable and we couldn't afford new ones. well, they finally gave out last night, but we had enough money to get them for him.

I feel lucky in the fact that I got some great deals on things we needed today. I really stretched our money and took care of what needed to be taken care of.
