I just wanted to share this photo with you, because it makes me so happy.
Two years ago my oldest son and I moved in to our own apartment in Denmark, and I made curtains for all the windows myself. These are my favorite. They were for my son's room, and when I saw this material, I immediately knew this was what my son would love. His father was living in Florida, and we knew that we would join him at some point, we just didn't know when, so I thought this fabric would be a good reminder of his father.
Most of it I did on the machine, but some of it I did by hand, and when I showed my mom and my grandmother they were so amazed, as they had no idea I could sew like this. I really couldn't, but I found a sewing handbook for the invisible stitches, and I was so proud.
I also made matching duvet covers for both of my son's comforters.
I had made the curtains extra big, so that they would be able to fit many different window sizes. We brought them with us, when we moved in February, and I had kept asking my husband to help me put them up. Well, it never happened, but this Sunday he finally came home with a piece of wood from Home Depot, and two coat hangers. I thought it was quite funny, but I like the fact that he is being thrifty, and I think the result is great.

I wish I could sew.
You did a great job! I need to get my sewing machine out and start back up. I know it would save me a bundle to make my kids' clothes instead of buying them all.
Great job on the curtains JR
I made all of the curtains when we moved in here. I think that I amazed my BF, after I was done he kept asking what else I could sew!
I wish I could make you all new curtains, but I still haven't gotten the sewing machine started over here. I was able to find an old Kenmore sewing machine on freecycle, and it reminds me a lot of my mother's, but I have yet to find a great fabric store, where I can find some great deals.
