Suffering eyes
faces of grieving
we sit and watch
growling tummies
and cries
We see and forget
find hard
for an extra buck
but find soon price for
smoke and belly wash
Homeless children
eager to get fed
unhappy kids
tears they shed
A bowl of happiness
is pricey miserable for them
Does study annoy our kids?
not them !
We are on diet
they die from it!We hate vegies?
they starve from hunger!
let's think of the other
two third
of our brothers and sisters
We are throwing our food
from our golden bowls
they are still looking
for one grain
left inside your bowl

Let's work together to help make others really care!
Mary Mc
You hit on important issues, Bhawana...and with such emotion!
What a wake up call. There are people that don't have a bowl of rice a day.
There are huts where vultures stand outside waiting.
You wrote this very well and you strike a tender nerve with your words.
And above all...is love and compassion. We know this but do we practise it????

What really *** me off is that money has been raised for third world countries for decades now and they don't seem to be any better off. Who;s pocket is it really going into?
It does seem like the problem never improves. Part of it is how aid has been managed in the past. Organizations try to work with governments that suffer from various levels of corruption. Other organizations have taken to going directly to those suffering. Save The Children springs to mind as a good example, one that works with the community and those affected to move towards solutions.
we must accept our part of duty and do our bit in saving resources as there are mjillion others sharing this Earth with us ..its not about just food , its about all other resources , water , air , land..its sad that educated people are not as responsible as they should be ... we have to make it our business ..
As a kid we were taught to take only that much food as we can eat ..you will never see me or my brother leaving a single grain in our plate ...
And never think of, hear, or see
The child crying as this hunger rings
A bell that God knows and sees.

Your poem was deep, moving and said these feelings of hunger very well.
Thanks Tracey,loved your sensible prompt.
find hard

but find soon price for

I love those concise lyrical lines -- the contrast between "find hard" and "find soon" leaves the filling in to my imagination, and because you use only what is necessary, reaffirms your message by connecting your style and your subject. Very nice!
We are throwing our food
from our golden bowls
they are still looking
for one grain
left inside your bowl
We complain about what we don't have when we are rolling in riches....
let us do our bit with all sincerity in soul and humanity in heart.
your verse reflects the poor children, for no fault of theirs are reeling under
pangs of poverty
kudos
