Do you want to know how and why our taste in music changes from time to time? I do. That is why I have written a book about one of the most puzzling mysteries of modern culture: how do we understand trends? The book is called Anatomy of a Trend and has just been published in the United States by McGraw-Hill. The book explains how and why changes in our tastes take place. In the book, I tell the story of how different music genres became popular – from disco to rap – and who the trendsetters were. One of the points that I make is that there are actually predictable patterns behind every trend. With the book I want the reader to be able to recognize an emerging trend, evaluate it, and make predictions about it.
All the best, Henrik Vejlgaard
