Weird question, I know. The title could have meant so many things. I'm not actually asking about "life" in general though, it's more about what your living situation is.
Personally, we're a family of 5 with 2 cats and I can't wait until we own our first home! Right now we're renting a house and it's been pretty hard cramming 5 people (4 of them being BOYS) into a house that's slightly over 1000 square feet.
The toughest part for me is only having one bathroom. As a mom, I'm always THE LAST ONE to ever get into the bathroom and then when I do, I'm never alone. I've always got at least one child asking me a question/needing something or one cat doing its business the same time I am!
So how do YOU live?

We bought our home in 2000.
The half bathroom we can't use because they covered up mold and on top of it our rent is being raised another 65.00! We are house hunting and have been for awhile but the market is horrible! So, we basically live in a small apartment dealing with neighbor issues, landlord issues and having no where to move because of the housing market and location of certain houses. Our rent is as much as a mortgage payment. But, considering a mortgage company in the area basically folded there are currently about 800 homes undergoing foreclosure over the next few months in our area alone all because of this mortgage company. Other than that we live paycheck to paycheck like most families since I'm a stay at home mom.
Oh yeah, it has an attached garage too. Wish it held 2 cars.
Right now I have my own apt, for privacy, that is connected by a single door to the house. It has a bedroom, kitchenette, living room, large closet and a bath. My three sisters each have their own bedroom and bath, so thats nice. If and when the rest of the family ever moves in and I move out they will have to share baths.
Then, when I go to Mexico, 13 more days, I move up to a 600 square foot house!
Now I know the reason for all your late night potty breaks. The only time you can be by yourself?
miss you faithy!! :)
We are renting, it is two bedrooms but one bedroom is the whole width of the house so it houses three boys easily with room for their stuff. It is really a great place and I love it. We just moved here in June from a trailor.
I'll tell you though, with the way the market is right now...it's a buyers market. My husband works with a gentleman that just looked at a 3 bed / 2 bath home (I believe it was a little more than 1400 sq. ft. - under air) and they were asking $123,000 ... we couldn't believe it when he turned it down.
My husband and I both work.
W are a family of 5 living in an older double wide trailer. Has 4 rooms to bathrooms. Nice size living room, dinng room and kitchen! Only 1 bath/shower that works.. 2 toilets though ;) I know you want details.. ;) I say 4 bedrooms becasue the boys room was 2 separate rooms and we tore down the wall and made it 1 HUGE room! Its basically 2 though! We are planning on another baby any day now ;) We are going to build a home as soon as we get our vehicles paid off.. about 2 years. I am excited! It will be a big home with a basement!!
It is too big for just me and teo... maybe someday we can share it. :-)
We have no credit cards, we save for what we want, and if we do not have the money in our checking account we do not buy it. Right now the only bills we have now are mortgage (prpoerty taxes, insurance inluded in this), utilities, and food.
We are saving for new flooring, a new car for me, we need to paint whole house, need a headboard for our bed, our appliances are all 10 years old (as I type this I am knocking on wood), so we are saving and setting up a cushion before we get flooring, and a new car.
Because it never fails, buy a car, you'll need to replace smothing major (again knocking on wood).
It's just me and my husband, our two betta fish
We take our lunches to work every, I include a bottle of water, bottle of iced tea, and a snack for our breaks at work, so we do not need to purchase anything from vending machines, or cafeteria's.
I plan out a weeks work of meals, lunches & snacks and then good grocery shopping.
I guess that we are lucky. We have a 2 bedroom, 1 & 1/2 bath house. It was great for the two of us and actually hasn't been too bad since the addition of his 19 YO. Our big problems are closet and kitchen storage. No pantry and his clothes are still mostly in her closet.
I consider us even luckier because we are having to pay rent here as well as the mortgage for his old house for his soon to be X and alimony on top of that. The lack of money has changed our habits a lot, but I am learning to be a pretty good cook and great shopper.
We rent and had a LOT of problems when we first moved in - but thankfully all the repairs are finally done!! The place is 25 years old and I don't think it has ever been loved - the wear & tear is sad - plus the fact that I am suffering the brunt of it!! UGH!!!
It has hideous popcorn ceilings and the linoleum in the kitchen is disgusting - but hey~~ they rent is cheap and it's in a fabulous location and the yard in front is maintained by the HOA!!!!! I too hope to own my own place someday - that is my only "WANT" in life!!!!!
