Ghost Ship-I'm Surprised! (Pleasantly)

I have watched many ghost movies,but they dont scare me-some SF, like Alien scared the wits out of me!! The ghost one i love best is Johnny Depp's Legend of Sleepy Hollow-he does such a good job of being scary and funny all at once!

I'm a fan of horror movies, and went to see this one on Halloween night the fall it released (4 years ago? 5? Not sure how long ago) with my husband, and another couple we knew. Actually, come to think of it, it would have been the Saturday before Halloween. We really liked it. I really enjoyed the scenes where they finally show how every died, because I kept saying (or thinking) that there was no way every person was on the main level dance floor when the wire snapped.

Rosalyn: I saw Legend of Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp too. I also liked it, but I won't be able to see it again. It just scared me too much! lol. I LOVE the second Aliens movie of the 4 that got made. It is my favorite. I also like the first, but not as much as the second.

Heather: lol! What you said last is EXACTLY what I said. Randomly, in the middle of the movie I started thinking..."now wait a minute. That sire didn't run through the whole boat. Not everyone would have gotten killed by the wire." I also knew that the little girl wasn't going to get cut by the wire because she's so little. I was thinking she would at least be able to call help from the ship or something! But the scene when it did show what had actually happen is one of my favorites, even though it's so sad! lol. It came out in 2000 in theaters.

Wow, that was a lont time ago! Lord, it doesn't seem so long!

I know! 7 years ago, almost 8! lol. I didn't think it came out that long ago either, and I didn't even see it in theaters! The other nigth was the firts time I've seen it, and I still thought 2000 was a long time ago for it to have come out! lol.

I thought Ghost Ship was a pretty good movie. Pretty gory, though. The grossest part for me was when they were eating out of the cans of food and it turned into maggots. bleah! It sort of reminded me of The Shining, with all the people in tuxes and such...

I watched it on television, they took out some of the gore..but not all of it lol. So I still had to close my eyes, I HATED when the bodies fell apart after they got cut by the wire.

I think it was good too. I honestly thought it was going to be one of those stupid ghosts movies that always suck lol.

That was the worst part! It was SO nasty! I think that is the 'scariest' part in the movie! lol.

Yeah, Heather and I are both big fans of horror movies. I don't hardly jump or scare at all, but they're still fun (Boogeyman is playing right now actually on our screen). I thought Ghost Ship was pretty good fun. Heather and I went with two of our friends at the time, and all of us enjoyed it. :)

I am scared of Ghosts too and I don't watch scary movies for that reason. But I too have surprised myself occasionally with a scary movie that didn't leave me freaked out for days. I guess it all depends on the scare factor of the movie.

I had forgotten all about this movie...Now that you bring it up...I liked it, seen it a couple of times now.

Honestly I'm surprised that so many people enjoyed this movie too. I would have thought others would think it was a dumb movie. I'm happy I was wrong and people agree with me! lol.

Yellow Cake and Tears

I've never seen it and horror movies scare me. It took me about seven times watching Ghostbusters (which I loved) to view the ghost in the library scene at the beginning. It didn't matter to me that the rest of the movie was funny and not scary at all but I couldn't watch it until someone said you know she's there, you know she jumps up just watch already. I finally did and it doesn't bother me now. The one horror movie that I didn't mind watching was "IT" by Stephen King because I'd read the book. I knew what was going to happen. If "Ghost Ship" has a book, I'd love to read it but I don't know about watching it. You made it sound very interesting and I just do better with reading my horror than seeing it.

I saw that movie a few times, years ago...and I really like it. Of course I love movies like that! The beginning, where they show what happends, was awesome!
