Calling all Halloween Costume photos, articles and videos: Your chance to be featured!

Do you love Halloween as much as I do?

I hope so, because this super spooky event is coming up fast and soon it will be time to get your kids all gussied up in their favorite Halloween costumes.

One of my favorite parts of Halloween (besides the candy) is the photos!  Because of this, the Photo Parade group is asking you to share your Halloween Costume photos and stories with us on Gather.

Gather is holding a virtual Halloween Costume party in the Family Essentials and as members of the Photo & Video Parade group, you're all invited to join in.

Round up all those Halloween costume photos you have and let's start posting!

  • You're invited to post a photo parade, individual photos or articles with stories about what you did on Halloween and the costumes that were worn.
  • Post your content to both the Photo & Video Parade group and the Gather Essentials: Family group.
  • On October 31st, November 1st & 2nd Gather will choose items to feature throughout the day in the Family channel.
  • You might even see your Halloween Costume content featured on Gather's homepage on the 31st!


Note: the normal guidelines for the Photo & Video Parade group will be lifted for this special Family Essentials event. You can send in ANY Halloween Costume photos, articles with photos and videos to the group. Have fun!

I can't wait to post the Halloween costume I have on my friendster page! lol

I don't yet have enough for a photo parade, so I think I'll have to start taking some new ones. I'm thinking about taking Merica to Pet Smart tonight, where they're having a pet/owner costume contest. I've never wanted to be a witch for Halloween, but I found the cutest dog/owner matching witches costumes.... We'll see.

Sounds fun! Wish I had a digital right now!! My son moved out again and took the camera with him!!! Rats!! I'll enjoy everyone elses pictures though!!

Jennifer - the guidelines for my Photo Parade group won't matter for this special event, so no worries if you don't have enough photos for an actual "parade" - I'll take any Halloween photo. Just remember to post them to Photo & Video Parade group AND the Gather Essentials: Family group. Can't wait to see the photos of you and Merica as matching Halloween witches. SO funny!

Tiffany: Thanks for joining the groups and thanks for the questions. You can post Halloween photos from any time, they don't have to be from this year. Just remember to post the photos to my group (Photo Parade) and the Family Essentials group and you'll be all set. I can't wait to see what you post! :o)

MaryAnne, sometimes in a pinch, I've had good luck taking pics of pictures...I place mine where there is no reflection, use plenty of light and eliminate the flash. Sometimes it works GREAT and other times not so great but it's worth a try anyway!

Halloween it seems a vrey interesting holiday. I read an article that talked about the Halloween, on that day, the kids will play "Trick or Treat" with neighbors and friends: either you give me a treat or I play a trick on you; and there is a carved pumpkin with candle inside that set in front of your house; and the halloween costumes...wow, it sounds very fun. Wish your all a Happy Halloween.
I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! I love Halloween! I've got some great photos of Kolten dressed as a girl I could share with ya'll, but I've kind of been saving those for prom night! Revenge for all the gray hairs he's bound to cause me! haha

I love Halloween, oh yes I do.....

I love to scare all the trick or treaters with my decorations and spooky noises and lights..........I do give out hands full of candy to those who don't run off too scared....

but I have no camera as of yet, and no way of uploading old photos either....

First thing:

I would like to say sorry for taking a while to get to your article. I have been away from gather for a while and I am finally getting to the 3000 plus emails I have awaiting me on here to go through. so I am starting from the most recent received to the first I ever received.... So now I am finally able to read your piece. Thank you for sending me the link to this article.

Now second thing:

I really like this idea you had sorry I was unable to take part in it though... You always come up with some fabulouys ideas... Got to love it hun.
