CA Fires

Do any of you know a good place that I can find maps of the current CA Fires? I feel helpless being in KC, MO with my family in Socal. I want to know whether La Jolla is going to be in the path of the Rancho Bernardo Fires so I can tell my mom to go grab my grandma if necessary. Thank you for any help. I haven't found a good place to look.

I can't give you a map but my company has an office in san diego with a lot of folks living in the la jolla area...they all had to evacuate and close the office...i don't mean to alarm you but they are being told way in advance...

They had it all over the news in Houston. It mostly talked about Malibu and the Million dollar plus communities. That is all I know. Try abc news online affiliates.

Dan- I live in SoCal. I've been getting 24hr news reports. My news originates in LA. Can't tell you too much about SD. However I did a google search of san diego online newspapers and came up with several. This would be your best bet if you can't call them. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Dan, unfortunately the only thing is did find is taking forever to load as it is a video. Even people on teh site are complaining that teh maps suck!

well, it's very dry there, the santa ana winds are warm and flow in the opposite direction from where it does normally, and so many people are in a small area.

No idea....fires are scary....we were evacuated twice during our fire storm some time back. Do a google search for it.

I just started getting shots from DOD ( Department of Defense ) this morning and they are pouring in while we speak, but no maps as yet. I'll keep you posted. As I mentioned, I started getting inquiries from Australia this morning ( as they know I am in the middle of the desert and according to the Aussies should be able to see the fires ).

I am commenting on all of your articles and photos as you have asked us to do in the mass email sent out!
