Very Controversial Movie !

It might be helpful if you said what the movvie was

please give a little more information before I go to the link

I watched this movie about a week ago on the net. It opened my eyes to a number of things I had not considered before.

For those not familiar with it, it is in three parts: religion, politics and the future. I think you will find it enlightening.

Doris: Since the movie is so all-encompassing, it is hard to make particular statements. However, I was unaware that many of the stories in the Bible actually are repeats of much older stories from around the world. That was really interesting.

People should be reminded in watching that they not throw the baby out with the bathwater ... just because some of the things shown are not agreeable to some people, just remember all of the many things that do make sense, that are most likely probable ... even a small amount of the possibilities mentioned in the movie are very damning of the perpetrators ... a worthwhile watch overall ... unless you are an ostrich.

To those who are so edgey: the movie is called Zeitgeist and it helps us understand things that most of us have always blocked out due to conditioning since childhood, including issued of religious and political beliefs. It requires "fluid intelligence" as opposed to the static, locked in kind.

I have seen this movie too, and I am VERY impressed. If everyone would watch it I think we would save a lot of turmoil due to multiple misinformation. I always sensed something didn't quite make sense with the Christian doctrine unless it was opened up to a more inclusive root. This movie has cleared up everything and it reinforces that insight I have always carried. As for the political part, yes, more and more needs to be put out there to help educate people about what is really going on with this country and with their futures.

Doris, thank you for bringing this into the "LIGHT" - these truths have been around for a long time... The Gnostic Gospels, the Book of the Dead and the other texts and glyphs have been denied by Christianity forever. As a student of Joseph Campbell and Elaine Pagels works', I had come to these conclusions many years ago, which was the reasoning behind the Trilogy I wrote in 2005. Onward and Upward my friends - Knowledge is power...

I'm curious as to whether or not these comments are being pruned so as to alow only the pro's. This movie has got such an aggresive and clear agenda that i became annoyed with the Christian suclusion. It's enteraining to me that anytime a person wants to prove athesism, they always! focus on Christianty, think about it... have you ever seen someone attack Islam or one of the many other religeons with the sole purpose of refuting God and or a higher power. No, it's just Chirstianity, and the reason is the same as to why Christianity has not only survived but thrived throughout history...it's an annoying truth, people don't wast there time attacking lies, lies crumble on there own. And as for the self proclamied 'facts' the movie so arrogantly boasts. Many were twisted and down right false. For example neither Christianity nor the bible claim Jesus was born on dec 25th, that date is only celebrated as the remembrance of his birth not the actual date. Every Christian I can think of has been aware of that. And when Jesus told the dis' to prepare the passover he wasn't refering to a coming age, because they actually went and met a guy with a pale of water, if it was symbolism they authors of the distortion wouldn't have finished the story by the dis' perfroming the command.

Todd, do not throw the the whole movie out just because as a Christian you are offended ... anybody with a true faith in God CANNOT be offended by anything said otherwise ... the truth always wills out in the end. The problem with so many 'religious' is that they have a primary importance to one other than the ONE God common to all faiths ... those that would fight and argue over their 'version' of God are worshipping something else ... IMnsHO.

I'll recommend this to my spiritual sisterhood, as an excuse to gather and view and talk.

This has the potential for many meaningful discussions. Sound was distorted for me and I will revisit (and possibly wait until anesthesia effects from surgery have cleared) before commenting at lenght. :)

I'm glad the wallflower put up the definition of zeitgeist, as I was about to do so after watching the video. By definition, this movie has NOTHING to do with "zeitgeist."

This piece of propaganda is little more than a "America is the problem" diatribe. In addition, it's attack upon religion is pathetic.

Such a claim puts you on the pedastal, and all the "little people," nothing more than mindless drones that accept whatever is fed to them.

People that believe they know something others don't, are as pathetic as their arrogance is astounding.

By the way, there's nothing controversial about this movie filled with stereotypes and very little "truth."

It is a predictable yarn made from whole cloth, and a very paranoid imagination.

As you say jJack we have to have fluid intelligence and be open to all possibilities. This includes not accepting all the government is telling the public. I will not say that I totally agree with the movie but I share the same philosophy as I do with life, takes what feels right and leave the rest. Most of the topics in the movie can be researched and verified. The theories give another perspective and force you to think for yourself and make up your own mind. To many things in our country have been based on the almighty dollar making the rich, richer and the poor and middle class footing the bill. I love this country and would not want to live anywhere else. But I am not that nieve to think that all is perfect. Does the media try to shape what Americans think and feel? Absolutely. Is this new? No. Just think, research, explore and keep an open mind.

While yes, much in this film is controversial, it does make a good conversation starter. Americans are often culturally insulated from some of the ideas in the film -- ideas other western cultures at least acknowledge in their educational system (if only to rebuff). I would be careful of using it as a discussion verhicle, however ... some people will use it to start a fight rather than a dialogue.

Doris, I thank you as well, as I ordered the DVD's and watched it in it's entirety - though still processing and feeling (as you said) - I watched it with 3 veteran's (Korea and Vietnam), it was an interesting evening, to say the least. Unfortunately, most of it feels like truth to me and as a victim of medicine, financing, foreclosure (CA), retirement, etc... I have focused my anger to action, as to not blow anything up (energetically)... thanks for helping to inspire PEACE CANDLES...

Like Jerry said, unless we're ostriches, we'd better take our heads out of the sand and become proactive and take our country back to where it belongs - remember... the people, not their representatives!

This movie comes the closest to being the top on my list of shocking things I have ever seen.

Even watching my father shoot a man in front of me when I was 11 doesn't come close to the emotions roiling in me from the movie and it.s stark visual presentation.

Thanks for this link. Lots of folks do not know these things, or have never been introduced to them. They certainly will not be taught in any public school. We, as a nation, have been turning our children into propagandized automatons.

it's 2 hours long , I'm 10 minutes in and all I've seen so far is tragedy.

Got to see more, not sure what to think. I think that either side can be zealous and manipulative with what they can present as evidence to their claims. I love Michael Moore movies but without research I tend not to believe them 100%
