We ended up dogsitting for my sister in law this weekend. We have 2 cats and one dog. They are used to each other and do not like other animals in the house. So it was interesting. Our dog is a Shih-poo. He is only 10 pounds. Tibbles (his cousin dog) is still a puppy and is twice his size in height and weight. Tibbles is active. Our animals are very laid back and not extremely active.
We brought Tibbles home Friday night and the fun began immediately. Nala and Belle hid and Jaxper found a high spot on a pillow on the couch. Jaxper growled at Tibbles, but Tibbbles set his sight on the cats. Now Belle is used to other animals coming into her life and was the best to adjust. She went up high to the top of the kitchen cabinets for the rest of the night.
Nala found a spot in the laundry basket on top of the dryer. Tibbles relaxed for bed and everyone slept well.
Saturday I went to work and left my husband alone with the four of them. When I got home all food bowls were still filled, which means no one ate all day.
I put Tibbles in the room wit me, so everyone could eat in peace.
I tried to get Nala and Tibbles to be friends. Nala meowed and hissed. Her big sister Belle came to the resue. She jumped down from the top of the cabinets and put herself between me and Tibbles (as I was still holding Nala). She was trying to protect her.
The only way to get peace was to have me in the room with Tibbles and Luis in the other room with everyone else.
Tibbles has gone home now. And the house is quiet again.

our last dogsitting adventure was for a friend who has a walker hound just like ours (only younger) ...confused the heck out of my mother in law, who had alzheimers!
