We took this beautiful autumn weekend to work on our trails. On Saturday we were out cleaning a creek area and collecting sticks for making mulch.
This is more of a close up of my hard working, good looking husband.

This is Barney gnawing on a bone. He loves when we are out most of the day working in the woods.

This is just a neat tree that the trail passes under.

This is new trail we are working on. Horses are kept on this part of the farm; therefore, they will be using this section of trail as well.

This is a picturesque view of the barn from the above section of trail.
We had suspected that our younger dog, a stray we took in, was pregnant. Today we found the pups. She has what appear to be three pups in a small underground cavern. Chris stuck the camera in the hole using the flash to get this picture. They appear to be healthy. Any takers?

We are approaching the end of our work. This is an already completed section of trail. Of course, there is non-stop maintenance.

This is an open field. Much of the trail lies in the wooded area you see beyond this field. We use this field for hay. Today my uncle used his grader to lay in a path around the field for a bicycle path. The circular distance will be roughly 1/2mile.

The end for now.

I enjoyed these shots.
I do not see much of an autumn/fall, as far as the changing of seasons go
(In San Diego, California)
I almost feel like I was there while viewing this photo story.
Thank you for sharing it.
Beautiful! My idea of a perfect abode and I would take the pups, but I am in CA!
Love,
Georgie
Thanks for sharing these shots...especially of the little puppy home!

Trail work is hard but really rewarding. We have worked on the Appalacian Trail on week-ends in New Hampshire and in Maine before Papa had his stroke.
I especially like the shot of the open field...

BLUEBONNETS OF TEXAS
So beautiful. You are right, nature changes the course every year and the work is endless. I helped someone clear an area in a mountainous region and it was very satisfying. Your leaves look as dry as the ones we have! Thanks for the great pics.
It must be a joy to watch the dogs play while you work too.
What a beautiful place to be.
Each year boy scout troops camp and set up an area on saturday and then Saturday evening loads of kids and adults ride tractor pulled wagons through the areas for a scare fest from 6 to 9 pm. Everyone then goes to the main camp lodge for a haunted House and cider and donuts. When it is all done (about 10 pm.) a meal is prepared for all the scouts that helped out. The boys have a great time and camp too. This is our troops second year, but some troops have done it for many years.
All the photos are great but I especially like the shot of the barn framed with the trees. It's a very serene photograph and composition. Nicely done.
I love the picture of the trees with all the fall colors, so pretty!!! =)
