Good afternoon Friends! I finally go moved, and I did it by enlisting the help of our local disadvantaged residents. I hired them so they could have a little money, and stop hanging out for hours in the front of the building they call home. Besides they are a lot of fun, and we had a strange circumstances to move under, they made it bearable and kept me focused. I moved under reallyextreme circumstances. I had the protection of the local police and sherff. My ex-landlady, and the law enforcement of our town, stood there for over seven hours as I moved. I will tell you this tale in another article. It is unbelievable even to me.
When I finally got my pc up and running, just a few days ago, I was very happy to see all the E-mails from all of you. Because I have taken on a nursing job, with a 72 year old gentleman, with cevical (neck) and hip surgery, I have little time to do to much, other than to continue to unpack and work. Things are a little better, and I hope you all continue to stay in touch with me. I had to delete so many old E-mails, I hope you are not offended. Between my regular E-mail accounts and Gather, I had over 900 messages. I just could not get to them and do justice.
If you sent me something of great importance, while I am catching up here, plese resend it to me and I will try to get things in better order. I have missed Gather, and my writing, and have much to tell you all, including the progress of the Troop Support drive for our soldiers, whose conditions have worsened in some areas. Also wanted to let those of you ,who were so kind when I lost Gus, know that the new puppy and I have bonded and we are working on our relationship. He is a totally different type of dog than Gus. Or perhaps having Gus for over ten years has a little to do with that. I swear we could read each others thoughts.
Remember the request for Barbara, the mother who is fighting for her son Jerry? The fight goes on, and I swear all of your thoughts that nite, right before I moved helped her, and the prayer promises gave her a lot of strength. I thank all of you..
My new house is over 90 years old, and is it full of history, and it has been neglected in many areas. It wil be a challenge to make it comfortable for the coming winter. The fact that I am a "clean freak" is not helping matters at all. But it is in a beautiful part of Arcadia, with great neighbors , and the yard is huge. The neighbors tell me under the house, at the deepest end, a family of skunks live, and have for years. I am not quite sure how I feel about that yet. One of my neighbors owns a buisiness in town and I have done some work for her, and she has two guard dogs, one Doberman, one pit bull who is a charmer, he cannot hear and was abused as was Gus. I still miss him. Gus I mean.
Glad to be back and am going to busy myself learning all the new things on the site, and touching base with all of you. I hope your Sunday is going great, and thanks to those of you who remembered me. Ellen B
