those scrub brush looking plants growing in front of the sumac are called teasle or pioneer scrub brush they were brought here to comb wool sheared from sheep.

Wiaka, I believe they are a fungus, generally found on dead trees.

The pictures are awesome, Shannon! You have quite the photographer's eye. I soooo would have eaten those grapes, no matter what they looked like. My dad used to pick us huge garbage bags full of them when he was out deer hunting. They're so tasty!! So different from store-bought grapes.
