This past Sunday there was a lot of canoeing on the Rancocas Creek in front of my home.
Why you might ask? Because there was this annual family event to enjoy and celebrate the beauty of
the autumn colors along the creek. The Foilage Festival is held annually at the Smithville Mansion were families can also participate in a Children's theater, pumpkin painting, crafts, NFL Football on a big screen TV for the men folk complete with a beer garden, music, mimes, facepainting, and magic were all part of the day. Canoeing began at 9am, the last canoers in line at 2:30pm still recived free canoes, and participants were still canoeing past our dock at 5pm.
This is an annual event and home owners like myself are asked to decorate our docks for the public to enjoy.
Everyone goes all out as there is a cash incentive for the best decorated dock. This year my family decided on an Egyptian theme.
We made all of our costumes and the Egyptian style decorations. Our family event began the evening before when my adult kids & there families and friends all come over for a pumpkin carving party.
This year we carved some mighty fine Egyptian style pumpkins along with the regular scary types. Everyone came prepared with a covered dish for our ravishing appetites. My offering was Spinach Tortellini's thanks to my being a Bzz agent but thats another story.
After carving till our hearts content; we put the finishing touches on the decorations for the dock, as it had to be ready to view ealry in the am.

The followingmorning we all donned our Egyptian regalia, prepared a breakfast fit for Pharoahs and watched the parade of canoer
s along the
creek.
