How can you explain?
To someone who has had SIX families
in under forty years what it is like to lose
the one you were awarded unexpectedly?
One of the last gasps, she came to me
griddle with the brazed repair in the handle
that Dad cooked breakfast on most days
of my younger life and asked....
'Can we at least get rid of this?'
How do you explain?
I carefully brought along some things,
that being one of them, to keep.
So I say 'it makes really good pancakes',
and the light in her eyes drops another notch.
But it is all grist for the mill at midnight,
on rainy nights,... alone.

How do you explain a connection with generations lost to someone who hasn't lived in the same house for more than a few years, or isn't sure how many kids are connected to their parents.
I love making pancakes.
I've recently re-learned to make soup.
creature to GO TO HELL........now i refuse to cok for the creep.....HE THREW MY KITCHEN
BABY AWAY!!!!!!!
I have more little things that remind me of someone to even think about. I have decided to love myself, enjoy my company, and learn to be alone and happy!!!!!
Spit in it's Eye.
but given the choices presented this year, cornered into losing situations twice to sop anothers ego, I'll fall back to the old standard, 'sok for awhile..
what don't kill me makes me meaner.. THAT is the sadness of it.
As your LAST wife (no, you can't have any more...but why would you want to?) I promise that I will NOT throw any of your stuff away. You know damn well that I'm as much of a packrat as you are. You ought to SEE this place!! Hundreds of records, 33, 45, and 78, books, papers, boxes, miscelanious crap, some old record players that I need you to fix some day, but that I'm going to keep because you just can't find old record players anymore...
You're probably the only person I'd trust alone in here, 100%!!! I hope you realize that.

That was the only item I asked for. Everyone thinks I'm nuts. She understands.
How can you explain to someone who's had SIX families? You can't. They'll never understand and for that, you're better off without her.
I'm also from a three, then two, then one, now me and I miss them every single day.
You got rid of the right one, by the way.
Marilyn
thank god.
