Am I doing something wrong with my pictures

I post on some of your photos. Sometimes, you put up a lot of content at one time though. Try putting it up in smaller chunks throughout the day and you'll probably get more comments that way. Not everyone is on Gather at the same times.

I try to comment when I see my connections/friends pics but sometimse it's hard to keep up with everyone! :)

Sonia...there could be several reasons for this...none having to do with the quality of your pictures. Perhaps you need to connect with more people. Another great thing would be to join some photography groups here on Gather. There are several, and this will make your photographs visible to more people. Another great way to connect with people is to join in on Dan Tomkin's photography chats. They are held periodically, and he gives some wonderful tips and answers questions. It is also a great way to meet some of the other people on Gather who are interested in photography. Dan is one of the Gather Guides and I know would love to have you in on his chats. Cheryl is right. Join the groups about pictures/photo, ect. Then they are displayed where more people will see them.

Also get more connections and your comments will go up. Then there is just luck. Some of my pictures which I LOVE only get 1 or 2 comments, then some that I just think are alright get 10-15. I think that has some to do with day of week and time of day.

Hey Sonia - I agree with Cheryl - connecting with people and joining groups is one way. In addition to that, go through the pictures in daily post view and look at the thumbnails. Comment on anything that catches your eye - chances are that person will check you out and comment in return.

I have long since given up quantity for quality. I used to comment and post like crazy and like you didn't get much in return. Being more selective not only gives me better results, but I'm now working on my 4th Gather gift card (two of those within a month).

thanks for your comments it does tend to bother me when I see no one is really commenting. But I have joined lots of photo groups I think I will pick and choose them better and go thru the groups I am in and see if I really want to be in them. It was just frustrating me so.

It's about having connections and posting to groups. Ask to connect with people whose photography you like and look under their photos to see what photo groups they belong to. Good luck!
