What makes me Happy today

I smile because I was blessed by the love of music .We acualy had name bands at teen gathings and dances in Ft. Lauderdale in the sixty's

I was able to see so many more wonderful musical talent than the kids of today can!

You tell a teen today you saw groups like Sonny and Cher,The Loving spoonful,the Circle,Jan and Dean,Beach boys;.And they were always for five to seven dollars ,and they ae amazed!

The fact there were free concerts in parks from the time I was sixteen .

The love of music makes my heart sing today

I remember those days! Wish they were back again. Now concerts cost big bucks and are often dangerous to attend!
That's why we have the likes of ipods, and radios, etc, so we can listen, virtually free, to the music we love.

I'm a country fan myself, but I still love the oldie musice of the sixties and seventies, long before rap music and heavy metal came onto the scene and ruined what I knew as music.

I sing along in life to all the songs from the "good old days" before it was "ruined" by the rap and hard rock too. I remember songs and plays from the 30s and 40s and of course on up and I notice that Rod Stewart that was one of the Rock and Rollers, is now singing some of the most beautiful songs and I have actually bought one of his CDs and he sings them beautifully, so kids today are getting some of our culture in that way. I have seen so many, like you, live performances of my day of the great broups and the big bands, when I was working in NYC in l944 and 45, I was able to go to the Roosevelt Room and hear Benny Goodman live on stage, while having dinner, and Xavier Cougat (the latin king if I have his name spelled right) at the Copa Cobanna. Yes, those were the days, and I believe kids today are missing out on a whole lot, but we had the free concerts too. Weren't we lucky, and would you give up all that you have experienced to be young again, I wouldn't .

Jules you lucked out back then seeing all those great bands
and singers. I saw the Beach Boys in concert at SPAC twice
and Chicago at SPAC great performances I had a blast!

Elsie I loved Benny Goodman and Xavier Cugat lucky you!!
I agree that Rod Stewart has some great tunes now.

I also find it interesting so many of this generation love our 60 and 70s music.Think the war has a bit to do with it.
And Elsie! My Uncle was Bob Price who played the Trumpet solo in "Danny Boy" he was with Glen Miller untill he died in a large fire the band was in.He played and sang with Al Jolson to.It was before me,but my father brought the era home for me.

Your so right Kimberly Can't believe the most expensive Concert I saw was $50. to see the Beatles !

Oh yes Rod Stewart is Great was from day one.

I am a big one on Memories all the read my work can tell that! The music does bring it all to mind.

I do love my Stereo but Love Live so much better!!
