"Be fruitful and multiply". Something touted as one of Gods commandments. Many religions point to this phrase, in the Bible, as a basis for their idea that people should marry, in order to have sex. Not even a relationship, long standing is good enough for them, since the couple didn't go and pay money for a licsense, and pay another to officiate, (means, make it official by recognition). Funny how they need to pay strangers for a license, and money to a stranger, to recognize their union, "officially".
Anyway, the teaching is that unless these strangers "officiate", ones union, it is not recognized by God, and is seen as an unclean union.
Many of the religions will point to later scripture, in the new testament, attributed to the Apostles of Jesus, which really does nothing more than give heed to customs, and rules layed out by man. But these are what the Bible refers to, disparagingly as," the traditions of man", being taught, as though they were the laws of God. But, being that all rulership of the earth is ordained by God, than we're supposed to follow their rules. (Romans 13).
Good advice. Don't make waves. Don't stick your neck out. Fly under the radar, and so forth. But, To say that Gods law, "Be fruitful and multiply meant that people needed to come up with all these cockamamie rituals, and rules built all around the relationship is ridiculous.
When God commanded, "Be fruitful and multiply", that was when God was in the process of creating. God was MAKING THINGS. That command/law was when the process of MATING was put into place. Instinct. Everybody has it, and every body does it. No matter what mans laws attempt to govern. No matter the custum, no matter the tradition. No matter the taboo, or threat, or price. Gods law prevails. People breed.
I figured this out by watching the other animals, and reading the Bible. Well before man walked the earth, God put that law in place. Gen. 1: 20-22.
God put it into every living breeding species. Multiply, and make more of your kind. The reason it can be seen as a law of God, is that nothing can go against it. Nothing can stop it.
I have nothing against the idea of "getting married", but it certainly is not the end all, because frankly, hormones rule, because that's the law of God.

I know it can be a difficult thing, cause I used to be one of them. But, I finally figured out that mankind making up a bunch of rules, does not make those rules Gods idea.
God did endow us all with brains to think, and make rules, and then figure out how to apply them in the best way possable. All too many times we do so fanatically, so.
Thanks for the comment, and the vote!
Insticnt is a built in mechanism. That makes it a law. And laws are compulsory.

Okay....it is my opinion now today that what marriage is between a man and a woman is the intimacy between them and the partnership they make with each other. I don't think it is truly necessary to do anything else, however, because of the laws of our land with insurance, real estate, and such as this, people need to have a license that help regulate these kind of things. Those "religious" people who think God is the one who made this law are WRONG. Man and woman made these laws about a marriage license and all other rituals concerning weddings and marriage come from man and not God.
Okay...now further when Jesus came he said it is truly not his will that any man or woman marries, but it is his will more than all men and women would stand alone as he does and I don't believe Jesus was ever married or even had sex. I believe he was tempted in all ways but without sin and I do not believe he ever had a wife, as this is not actually the perfect will of God. But....God gives people permission to marry if they cannot contain themselves to avoid fornication, which means if they just can't do without sexual relationships it is better to marry than to burn. In all these scriptures, I am sorry, I do not read that God or Jesus is talking about marriage can absolutely be with just anyone, meaning man to man and woman to woman. This also is something of the flesh and in our land and not something from God. I believe God meant marriage to be between a man and a woman and then they can have all the sex they want and that their sexual times should be aimed toward multiplying. I believe is is actually abuse toward one's own body to use sex to get just every pleasure one can most possibly get. I believe God only meant sex to be for creating children. Now....what about birth control....I believe there are exceptions here and that each person has to seek this out from God.
And what about women marrying women and men marrying men. I believe this is something strictly that is on earth. It has no roots with God or Jesus. People in these relationships can certainly be spiritual, but it won't come from God the father in heaven. And.....God and Jesus never stops loving anyone. They do love everybody regardless of their choices, we all have free will to choose just like Adam and Eve did. the test is do we love God the father in heaven and Jesus, if we do, we will seek to know what they require of us and any deviations from their laws is a sign of NOT LOVING THEM. God and Jesus never stops loving anybody regardless of their behavior or choices in life. Now the first commandment is to love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind and soul, and if we do this, then we have proved our love for God, the second commandment is like unto it to love our neighbor......and on and on and on.
