Some people are still concerned about Iran. They point to the neocon new way of framing the coming conflict as more of the same. They disregard that Russia is behind Iran, and wants this to go away. Putin says trust me, I don't see any desire for nuclear weapons.
Some people point to Turkey, and worry that they may invade Iraq, placing our national treasure in harm's way.
Some still are concerned about Iraq, and what it might look like if the democrats elect an anti-war leader.
I happen to think that being anti-war should mean that you should choose not to be commander in chief. There are always instances which are unplanned. Saddam Hussein was a bad person.
Bringing independance to Europe and Japan took considerable time and effort. People tend to forget that we tend to wish to help provide for the future of people when we have needlessly destroyed homes.
Al Qaeda doesn't rebuild.
Life is short, eat cake, have fun.

Not worrying about an attack on Iran is akin to living below a hydroelectric dam and standing in the front yard to watch it break apart.
Parts of our efforts are succeeding in providing skills to some Iraqis.
Granted, it's not enough, it's not universal, but by the same token, Iraq is still a dangerous country.
As to Iran, it might be that we will have to accept a Nuclear armed Iran.
You have several decent points, Marty. Saddam was NOT a nice guy...BUT, he wasn't bothering us and posed no threat. intelligence hace now confirmed that he hated Al Qaida. Evidence also proves that Saddam had no WMD since 1992.
We went in there, destroyed a country and it's economy, were personally accoiuntable for over 100,000 civilian deaths...ooops.
The theocratic regime in Iran bears watching because they're nuts, but the people are good. At this point, they'd rather see the Shah back than the current government. Yes, Russia is backing them...only because they're making a good buck selling technology and engineers (kinda like what we're doing in India). The Russian economy is on the upswing, while ours is going down the toilet. Hmmm. Who's smarter?
Russia is a bit nervous because every day we look more and more like Hitler's Weremacht. Russia lost 20,000,000 people in WWII. We're playing war games in their backyard. I'd be a bit nervous, too.
The plans for the invasion of Iraq were laid long before Bush was elected by Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeldt, and Paul Wolfowitz.
