Time has relayed so many voices
And whispers mingle each wisp of air
Into a filter of reminders
That some may linger to bring us cheer
Gauge the measure of life between us
Like subtle reference where dust can't hide
And all we share creates our value
As embers of hope somehow survive
The ins and outs of our daily life
Massage simple truths as wisdom tries
To find the road of suppose to be
And accept the fates of twilight scene
A glance, a reminder, a deep sigh
Smoke and mirrors where daydreams reside
And for longings that have been eclipsed
We dwell in solitude for that missed
This day has refracted from the dawn
And routines are set till setting sun
Whispers then fill our soul's refrain
And in darkness a smile drifts to sing

Radiant and beautiful..
And You Know It.
Thanks for sharing.
It's as if mere living is not enough. One feels that there could have been more. I read this in your poem and I think of many twilights and golden dawns.
I say...no regrets...I lived the only way I could. What I couldn't have for myself I'll give to others.
And that dear Bill is precisely what you do. You give and give. I toast you. Will Jack Daniels do or shall we make it Guiness?
This is very deep and very well written,
I am not educated enough to see all the subtelties, but I am certainly able to enjoy this.
William this is my favorite, that i have read since joining Gather.
I like the poem. Reflective and poignant.
I love your last line of this especially!

Cuz my grammar's sew gud
And each word in from a dictionary
I was given when I were ate
And I do remember that moment
Cuz I had two peice of chokolate cake
I sawr all dem their words
And I decides to permeate
A few sentences twogether
And was told they was a verse a poet makes
So yes I showd I was a poet
But then I gots me english grade
The teacher gives me an F
And mes pappy not two glad
Said I'd had some learnin
So another dictionary he gave me at nine
And with two dictionaries
I became a poet full time
This is absolutely my favorite image:
"As embers of hope somehow survive"
I laughed after reading your comments. What I like about you is that people only think and you just say it all..I appreciate this talent and honesty.
And all we share creates our value.
and the whispers of this true value shine light on our happiness.
Well done.
William this was well written, it should be as your Daddy
gave you two dictionary's. *smiles*
And accept the fates of twilight scene"
