Oh, this makes me sick. I didn't know horses were slaughtered and I certainly didn't know for human consumption. Who is eating them? Where's the meat? Are there organizations to care for horses who need it?

I get this alert through the Humane Society, and I swear, every time it seems like this has been put to rest, it comes up again. What, you can't get enough people to sign on and override the children's insurance veto, but there's always some jerk out there agitating to kill horses so they'll be eaten in Europe?

I'm going to go have a large drink now. (But I'll definitely be there tomorrow, calling my cretinous rep and senators. Thanks, Debbie!)

Thanks, Debbie, for making people aware of horse slaughtering and what we can do about it. Slaughtering of animals is done out of the public eye and public scrutiny because the public doesn't want to know about it. If we did, we might feel pain and have to change our ways. We're afraid to feel and show empathy because we mistakenly think it would lessen our human position.

we have a problem with horses dying of starvation in our Desert,,, there was a round up today,,,they brought in seventeen,,,they were put up for adoption,,, I would have adopted many by now if I had a large property,,,my great granddaughter asks all the time if people will take them? she heard that they are used for food and gets crazy on us,,,we have her understand that they are adopted,,, cannot tell her anything more,,,
