Diversity Noose Reports

I would love to think that the Jena 6 incidient was an isolated one.  But it appears that is not so. 

Diversity Inc. Magazinze reports:  "Although the Jena 6 incident has provoked the most national outrage, the increasing use of nooses in the workplace, in schools, and in public places signifies that Jim Crow is alive and well in this country. DiversityInc is instigating the first national Noose Watch to show you recent noose incidents and increase public awareness of this dangerous racist trend. This Noose Watch includes all incidents we know of that have been reported to authorities."

 

To see if any noose reports have been reported in your area, here's the URL.  The USA map with noose reportings shown might surprise you.  It did me.

I wasn't at the web site for long when they wanted my email address. But, anyway, some of the ones I looked at seem to have taken place on school campuses. I think the kids need some serious history lessons. And a few smacks upside the head.

Lera, you are correct in the way you said they need lessons and s good smack.

This needs to stop. Hasn't anyone learned about slavery and the civil war, and desegregation? Anything at all?

Wait, it may not be taught anymore, with all that they take out of the textbooks.

You're both right. I think sometimes schools are so busy teaching kids how to have safe sex that they're neglecting important history lessons. The strides that were made in the 60's should have been a foundation for more and better things to happen. By now, our children should not be seeing color or differences at all. Sadly, that's not the case.

Very interesting information here. I think that this is important for us to look at and understand. Here in Nebraska it does not conern me so much but that can always change as well.

Well, if the schools can't or won't teach it then the parents should step in and do it. Hopefully they aren't bigots themselves, but I don't hold out any hope on it.

Ok - I had to do a lot of google searches to figure out what you were talking about. I have never heard of this!!! However, once I did I was sad because it makes me sick to think that nothing has changed in hundreds of years!!!!

The sad thing is that so many people on both sides contribute to the divisions instead of working together for unity and love.
