My Dear Creatives,
Yesterday was indeed very special. I hosted the first meeting of a brand new writing group.
There's something to be said for listening to the wonderful words of others. As well, I'll shared my words. I had and have no other expectations beyond listening and sharing with like minded creatives.
This has to be good for anyone - to experience works outside of oneself and to offer, when requested, help to refocus the work of someone else. To be able to do so in a safe environment has to be positive.
Today I learned that "SHINE! The Journal" was a finalist in the Writer's Digest Best Writer's Website Contest! This was a terrific surprise for me. SHINE! didn't win but to even be considered...WOW! I thank all of you who submitted SHINE! to the contest and for the works that I had the pleasure of publishing within SHINE!'s pages. It's because of all of you that SHINE! a fledgling publication born in January 07, was recognized at all!
It's really an honor to have made the short list. Now I know why Oscar nominees are excited just for being nominated because I feel the same way.
Again, thank for your support and for making my day!
I'm smiling this morning. I sincerely hope you will also find the joy that awaits you today.
Best,
Pamela

I sure hope so!
You are too kind.
Thanks very much!
I agree with you!! We're all in this together.
Thanks bunches!
Thanks and I will do my best!
TY for that!
My writing has caused quite a stir in my hometown writers' group.
Thanks!
I'm sorry you feel that way. Here's what has happened in the past:
I address each problem as best I can and I would handled your situation the same as others.
Generally speaking I respond to each submission with the situation as I perceive it and, if I am not able to publish, the reasons why. I also include other places where your work may find a home.
I seriously doubt I would have rejected out of hand anyone from GATHER. Being from GATHER does NOT automatically mean I will be able to use it. It does mean that I hold Gather folks in a special place in my heart though.
Some people send things using an Apple, or using docs on other than Word which I am unable to open. (I am a writer and not a computer expert.)I do offer people with problems after they've submitted through the form and it hasn't worked, the option of including it in the body of an email.
I do recall a lady who sent something on an APPLE I think it was. She asked me If I thought THAT was the problem. My response was "it may be," but I am not a computer expert and certainly not an APPLE expert so that would have been the only answer I could have provided. (not saying that was you-just offering an example of some of the things I recieve.)
So as best I can I do provide a response to problems. A better source regarding formatting would probably be anyone but me-perhaps CSR from the computer co or a friend.
Early on, many subnmission came in ways that were difficult to convert. I found myself re-writing/ reformatting/ re-something or another and it was taking too much time. That's why I ask people to pay attention to the guidelines.
I am happy your work is causing a stir (in a good way I hope) in your hometown. I hope you will consider submitting again when you are able to format it for SHINE!
I hope this helps.
I am so happy for you! Keep up the good work.
TY my friend
I am sure you will get there :)
TY very much
Keep smiling Pamela and the whole world will smile with you!
Thanks so much. I willnever forget the support you have always provided.
