Okay, by now you're probably laughing at me, thinking, "Doesn't this woman have anything to do?" I know it was a bit of a hokey show, but I faithfully watched it every Sunday night until it ended...the first time it ended as well as the time it actually, finally ended.
I was quite enthralled with the Camden's. I guess being a mom of five sort of encouraged my interest. I wanted to see how a family with seven children survived. I was intrigued by the fact that Eric was a pastor, and how the family seemed so connected in so many ways. I liked their portrayal of a Christian family in such a non-threatening way. And I liked the many real-life topics that were featured on the shows.
The next-to-last season was probably my least favorite season, in that I found many of the episodes to be way too predictable. The last season was probably the hokiest, but I enjoyed some of the new characters they brought on board.
I guess what I'd like to know is if there are any other diehard 7th Heaven fans out there? Am I a lone hokey-TV fan of a cancelled series? Does anyone else miss Annie and Eric, Matt, Mary, Lucy, Simon, Ruthie, Sam and David? Did anyone else see Simon (David Gallagher) in the season premier of CSI Miami a couple of weeks ago? Is anyone following Jessica Biel's career?
I'm done. I won't ask any more trivial questions. But 7th Heaven fans, rest assured, there will be more. I'm armed with my DVDs of several seasons, with more on order. I can't let the Camden's rest. I guess I'm just a sucker for sweet family TV with happy endings.
Am I alone in my obsession?

For instance, I don't watch "Top Model" or whatever that Tyra Banks modeling show is. Now that they have an AUTISTIC or Asperger's person trying out as a model, I"m feeling the pull...to watch. Yeah, it is probably a gimmick but as the parent of one special needs kid, I can relate, not that he is interested in modeling, lol.
I am drawn to home renovation shows like some people are drawn to Shark Week shows. Come to think of it, I like Shark Week and Meerkat Manor too (and mourned the death of one little meerkat to a snake bite :(
P.S. Thanks for your post to: homeworkhelpline.gather.com
Thanks for responding to my question about vocational ed :)
I responded to your article in more length up above. Like Elsie, I'm a fan of good, family oriented shows. I hear good things about Hannah Montana but haven't been able to watch it yet. I'm not able to watch tv much.
I loved and watch the first season but just drifted away on the other seasons. I think I really liked the samll family unit but when the kids got bigger I lost interest.
I didn't like it towards the last few seasons though when people kept coming and going and it got sort of sexed out and trashy like all the other shows.
I loved Eric and following him through all his changes. What I didn't like was the gospel did not really seem to be preached at his church. They probably were trying to appeal to everyone and not seem overly "religious." In any case, the show will be sorely missed but overall had a good run.
Popping in to thank you for a comment on one of my latest articles. I'm getting spooked about all the staph stories in the media. :(
That was not the latest article you commented on, just a random observation of mine. My poor teen has had me nag him so much lately about washing his hands that he must be sick of hearing me go on and on about it.
