When the feast was over the people said prayers to the Creator for the blessing they received for their hungry bellies. Each family went to their own lodging Little Feather went with Openhand and Red Wing his wife. They took her in after the fire, gave her privacy by hanging a large blanket that Red Wing made. She slept on soft bows from the fir trees covered with furs that Openhand layed out for her. The doll Warm Robin made for Little Feather laid right next to her every night since she made her home with them. It was so different living there no Mother or Father the one she missed the most was Grandmother Warm Robin. Little Feather layed there thinking of her how she would follow Grandmother into the woods when she was a little girl. Remembered all the roots and leaves she got then put them in her leather pouch to bring home then make something good to eat. She fell asleep then started to dream about the Great Buffalo they were roaming over hills aroung the reservation there were many of them.
That morning Little Feather rose from her comfortable bed trying to remember the dream she had and it came to her while eating her food it was good cornmeal mush made from Red Wing grinding corn in her wooden bowl with a tool Openhand made her. Little Feather finished her cornmeal mush took her wooden bowl down to the water washed it out layed it in the sun to dry. She looked up and there was Spirit Crow walking toward her how happy it made her to see him as they had grown close when that fire took away everything and everyone she loved. "What are you doing today?" he asked Little Feather "Would you like to come fishing with me maybe we will catch many fish to have for our meal tonight." Now she went to let Red Wing know that they were going fishing where all the big ones lay around the big rocks in the waters.
When Spirit Crow with Little Feather came to that great fishing hole they both knelt down on the embankment reached in carefully she was the first to catch the big fish! After that both of them were grabbing hold of many big fish enough to feed both of their familys. Spirit Crow and Little Feather wrapped the fish with the thick grasses that grew around the banks of the river put them in their leather pouches he took more because it was his way of being nice to her and carry more home than Little Feather. On the way back to the reservation they spotted some berries they stopped to pick some to bring home he took the extra pouch from his waistband filled it up, of course they filled their faces too! Off they went to proudly show off all those big fish they caught plus the berries and Red Bird was so happy they would all feast together that night.
While they were all feasting on those fish that Red Wing cooked Little Feather thought she would share her dream about the Great Buffalo with them. It was so real she told them that there were many of them they covered the all meadows as far as she could see. Openhand and Tall Trees, Spirit Crows father were talking how it might have been a vision Little Feather had, it was a sign from the Creator they both were sure about that. The excitement grew they were whoopin' an hootin' then many others heard them. Came to see what all the happy noise was about then Openhand turned to Little Feather told her to explain the vision about the Great Buffalo.
