We are in the second week of Puppy training. My little pug seems to be beat to a different drummer than the rest of the class. The other dogs are sitting and staying while Presley is jumping around and making Gene Simmons faces(you know his tongue is longer than his body!). I think it doesn't help that one of the other people in the class brings her 2 small daughters who want to play with Presley all the time. This week the instruction talked about having kids near your dog and no sooner did she say about teaching kids to put their hand under the dog's face,then the one little girl was over putting her hand right near his mouth. Of course, mom is too busy training her dog to watch her kids and my husband had to say something. I've heard that pugs are hard to train and I guess it's true. I know eventually he'll get it,I hope it just in my lifetime!

Saturday will be her third week. Although we have picked up very quickly on the fact that a click from the clicker means a treat, we have not gained much ground on housebreaking. We are still working on it, but I think I have figured out that she doesn't know the difference yet between the carpet inside and the grass outside. She doesn't "go" on the hard floors, only on the carpet. Go figure.
Anyway, she and I both wish you luck.
