ROBBING PETER TO PAY PAUL
Political power is inherently dangerous in a free society: it threatens the rule of law, and thus threatens our fundamental freedoms. Those who understand this should object whenever political power is glorified.--Ron Paul, February 5, 2007
The problem is that democracy is not freedom. Democracy is simply majoritarianism, which is inherently incompatible with real freedom. --Ron Paul, February 7, 2007
I certainly don't want to come across angry, although I do get pretty annoyed when I see blatant abuse of the rule of law and blatant ignoring of the Constitution and that is annoying because I see the republic fading away.--Ron Paul, Thursday, October 11, 2007
Every politician on earth claims to support freedom. The problem is so few of them understand the simple meaning of the word. Ron Paul, February 7, 2007
It is only when elites become politically connected that they begin to impose their views on all of us.--Ron Paul, February 5, 2007
It is always more difficult to fight against faith than against knowledge.

LIBERTARIANS NEED LOVE TOO...
Ron Paul--the Howard Dean of the right?
Not according to his supporters, who stack straw polls, hack internet surveys, and fanatically draw attention to Vegas bookie odds as high as 4 to 1 that he will win the Republican nomination.
But all you would-be gamblers out there? Save your money.
It's a sucker bet.
Politics doesn't quite work like sports, even though there is talk of a horse race.
2,439 delegates are selected by state primaries to the winning candidates as allotted by the Republican party, and 662 delegates are unpledged.
I direct your attention to the following:
"The Republican scenario is more complex, but no less intriguing. Republicans will take only 2,517 delegates to their Labor Day convention in Minneapolis. But some 662 (26%) will be officially unpledged. These include every state party chairmen, every Republican state committeeman and committeewoman, and, under more liberal Republican rules, delegations from states like Washington, Colorado, Nevada and Maine who will go to the convention not bound to vote for any candidate.
If all the states planning to move up their primaries succeed, some 1444 Republican delegates will be selected by February 6. Eight of these early primary states apportion delegates, just as Democrats do, based on a candidate’s percentage of the vote. Nine are winner-take-all states. The remaining five, including California, Florida, Georgia and Michigan, give three delegates to the winner in each Congressional district and some smaller percentage to the overall winner in the state."
Unless Paul can get the votes of a significant minority those unpledged delegates, he hasn't got a chance in hell.
So. To all you Ron Paul supporters, I say this:
In my experience, the Vegas line is not infallible when it comes to handicapping political races.
OK.
What?
You're still not listening?
I'll say it again.
Ron Paul will not be the Republican nominee.
I don't care what the bookmakers say.
History is against him.
Far more importantly, the math is against him.
It's not going to happen.
It happened in California and it happened in Minnesota, but national politics is a totally different playing field.
The superdelegates, party hacks all, wouldn't support him if he raised a billion dollars.
The way things are set up, it's nearly impossible for an insurgent to win the Republican nomination.
HOWEVER....
There is a possibility he could run as an Independent.
If he does, of course, he will split the Republican vote--especially if Giuliani is the nominee--and the democratic nominee will....
You know the rest.
His supporters are a force to be reckoned with. For instance:
Romney ...won the [September 2007] straw poll of participants at the Michigan Republican Leadership Conference on Mackinac Island. Of the nearly 1,000 who took part in the unscientific vote, Romney won with 39 percent. McCain came in second with 27 percent. Texas Rep. Ron Paul narrowly edged out Giuliani for third place with 10.8 percent of the vote compared with 10.6 percent for Giuliani.
http://www.wideawakes.net/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=22931&page=1#Item_0
So he may come in fifth, fourth or even--my God!--third in New Hampshire.
But he'd have to come in second to even have a ghost of a chance, and I just don't see it happening.
And he won't win, place, or even show in the Iowa caucuses.
BTW, did you know that Pat Robertson placed second in the Iowa caucus '88?
But winning, placing, or showing in the Iowa Straw caucus is only an indication of organizational strength. The person with the most money and the best organization will come in first, second, or third.
Note that when Dean come in third in the caucuses in '04, it effectively destroyed his candidacy.

The Right Brain vs. Left Brain Test. If you see dancer rotating clockwise, you are right-brained (creative), counter-clockwise, left-brained (logical). The Right Brain vs. Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?
If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.
Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

9 Dangerous Statements Women Use
1.) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
2.) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
3.) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with Nothing usually end in Fine.
4.) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
5.) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about Nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of Nothing.)
6.) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That's Okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
7.) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome.
8.) Whatever: Is a women's way of saying SCREW YOU!
9.) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?" For the woman's response refer to #3.
Send this to the men you know, to warn them about arguments they can avoid if they remember the terminology.
Send this to all the women you know to give them a good laugh, cause they know it's true.

346. CONTROVERSIES IN POPULAR CULTURE
MEL LYMAN, ACID MESSIAH
I am going to burn down the world / I am going to tear down everything that cannot stand alone / I am going to shove hope up your ass / I am going to turn ideals to shit / I am going to reduce everything that stands to rubble / and then I am going to burn the rubble / and then I am going to scatter the ashes / and then maybe someone will be able to see something as it really is / Watch Out - Mel Lyman
As Christ appearing in this modern day and age I am going to take advantage of all mediums of communication. First I appear before you in newsprint, next I will reach you through television, I will take advantage of any and all proper means of communication at my disposal. I am here as the World Heart, and I am not alone. I have gathered my immediate disciples and we have been preparing ourselves for this gigantic task for many years. And I have another even GREATER surprise for you...The Buddha is with me....Rejoice, we are going to unite the WORLD!
THE ENEMY IS WITHIN! We have to start a new life here, we cannot live in this dying structure, it will kill us, it has already killed itself. Our only weapon is inner strength, a small group of people with a great deal of determination can transform the world, be the NEW Christians, fight for your life, fight for love, fight for a new world, fight for room to breathe, the Heart of God is a vast darkness that only the brave can know, this is a plea for courage, WE MUST GET TOGETHER AND FIGHT THIS CREEPING DECAY.
