Ouch - would you subject yourself to this?

This is my husband's newest addition to his back, done yesterday.

His entire back will end up being a family piece with a picture of him, his brother and his parents all riding on their Harleys with the Three Sisters mountains (located in Central Oregon) behind them.

This is just the outline and shading of his mom and dad so far, done in Salem Oregon.

4 hours were spent under the needle to get this and he'll go back in 2 or 3 months to get some more done.

That is freaking cool! It's going to look really good when he's all done! But in answer to your question...............heck nah! I'm a big baby when it comes to pain! That's why I don't have any of my own! ha ha

does look cool! But I'm a needle-wuss. Having babies was the most pain I'd ever subject myself to and that has it's own lasting marks ;)

Wow, I like that. I have been thinking about getting a small one but I don't think I could handle the pain from one that big. Besides, I could never lie still for that long. LOL

Pretty neat. I spent 3 hours under the needle (one session) on mine and an additional 45 mins of touch ups.

Mine wasn't across my spine, though a part of it comes pretty close my spine.. it stops just short of it.

That is really cool looking, but OUCH! Honestly, I'm the biggest wimp when it comes to pain. I -want- a tattoo, but I doubt I'll ever be willing to spend the money to do something that hurts, and that I will likely regret having when I'm old, wrinkled, and it's looking odd. ;)

Ouch! But it is pretty amazing work done. Will he get the entire back work done before coloring it in? How long will it take to be completely done? And I hope you will keep us posted with pictures in progress.

As for me... no way! Too much pain to think of trying. Although hubby has one from years ago. It's actually fading over time though.

Yeah, it's cool, but as you said "Ouch"!! I think I'd go for somethin' just a little smaller at a time!! I'm a big chicken when it comes to pain!

neat Tattoo Faith...did you draw that? Nice work if you did! I'm impressed! BTW....doesn't that hurt like heck? I am such a baby when it comes to needles, I hate flu shots and can't imagine lying there for 4 hours while this was done! OUCH!

OUCH !! That is a great tattoo. My hubby wanted to put the grim reaper across his whole back, I put the stop to that one.

I would never put myself through that much pain.

If I could have subjected myself to this I would have when I was offered an entire back tattoo for free because they told me my skin was perfect for tattoos. The one I had at the time hurt enough that I didn't think I could have handled what came with one that covered my entire back.

That's a cool tattoo! Can't wait to see the finished result.

That's amazing work. I have two tattoos of my own, but none that big and I wouldn't get one that big, but I would get another tattoo.
