Six New Paintings Completed and In a Gallery

I have completed another 6 stained-glass-canvas paintings and delivered them (along with 6 others I had already completed) to the Yellowhouse Gallery in Nags Head, NC.

These are the last paintings I will complete this week, as we are packing to leave the first thing tomorrow morning. It has been a very successful week, I completed 16 new paintings, and was accepted in two new galleries on the Outer Banks (giving me a total of three!).

Here are the newest ones:

Blue Crab, 8"x10"

Dancing Starfish, 8"x10"

Flamingo Star, 8"x10" (The Flamingo is actually very pink, but no matter how hard I tried I could not get it to photograph that way.)

Hatteras Light, 8"x10" (oval canvas)

Sea Oats & Sun, 12"x16"

Beautiful! Geez when I did art I could only do it when the mood struck me (Which was not all that often.) You, however seem to continually pump them out!

Thanks so much, all of you. I am, frankly, a little overwhelmed at the positive responses to my art, not only here on Gather, but in the galleries as well. The two seagulls have already been sold!

Let me reply to some of your questions/comments:

Lera, I can usually only complete 2 a day. But, on vacation, when there were not as many distractions, I could do 4 or 5. Remember, I am working in a small format, and there is no framing involved.

Jennifer, I think I do art best when "in the mood" as well, but what I am discovering is how much selling puts me "in the mood!"

These are very nice. How do you think up a subject? I happen to like all things sailing if you ever need an idea. Blues of the sea and sky with white sails are all over in my house. Bethlehem has become my new favorite. Maybe we'll see more like it as we head toward Christmas? Sounds like you accomplished lots while vacationing. Now you'll need a vacation from the vacation to rest and catch up!
