I am a great fan of the www.mycokerewards.com site, as the Coca Cola company seems to be the only one, who actually wants to reward me for picking up after my neighbors.
Â
If you like to get free movie rentals, free magazine subcriptions etc., you should definitely start entering those coke codes that you throw out.
Â
Â
We don't drink a lot of coke in our house, and besides some great points, which I have received from some kind gather connections, I would say about 90 percent of my cokerewards points come from picking up bottles, when I go for walks with my sons.
If you need to boost your coke rewards account, all you need to go is find those sneakers and go for a stroll - and don't forget to bring a couple of bags from the grocery store.
As soon as you are on the ground, the points will begin to pop out. Of course there are the obvious bottles, but don't forget to look for the caps. Look for blue, red, silver, purple and green caps.....and soon you will be able to see them from a distance. They are often stepped on and hide in the grass, or in the dirt, so you have to keep your eyes open. If you see a bottle with no cap, the chance is great that you will find the cap nearby.Â
If I see a bottle when I am driving, I know this will be a great place to go for a walk. One bottle often leads to many.

You can find the points under the bottle caps, or on the inside of the can boxes. Sometimes it can be difficult to see what the numbers and letters are, but the following tips can help.
- Remove the blue protective plastic under the cap, but keep it in case you need to compare the numbers.
- Hold the caps up in front of your computer screen, and the code will be a lot easier to see. This works best for red, green and silver caps.Â
- Use a flashlight to light at the code.
- Ms and Ns as well as X, H and K can easily be mixed up

My Top 10 Places to Find Coke Reward's Points
Â
1) In the Home Depot Parking LotÂ
I have often picked up points, whenever I went to Home Depot, but this morning I decided to clean the lot. I put my son in the stroller, and then we went coke scouting. I found 17 caps/bottles with points, which is equal to 51 points.Â
Â
2) High schools
High school students seems to be drinking a lot of fanta, coke, sprite and powerade.....and for some reason, they have a difficult time making it to the trash can.
Two days ago, my youngest son and I went on a 3 mile walk, and we were walking in an area neighboring to a high school. We picked up more than 60 points on that walk.
Â
3) Bus stops
Whenever you get close to a busstop, make sure to search the ground for caps floating around the dirt and grass. At my "favorite" coke bus stop, I can easily find 4 caps every day. I walk by there about every two weeks, and it does a lot of good to my cokerewards account.
Â
4) Middle Schools
I guess the middle schools in our area has not banned soda yet, as there are still caps to find.
Â
5) Uncut Grass
Anywhere, where the grass has been left uncut you can be certain to find some points.
Â
 6) Water
Another place where coke points seems to accumulate is near water. Brooks, rivers, , beaches, lakes, poodles.....as long as there is water there will be bottles.Â
Â
7) Your Supermarket/Walmart Store
Next time you go shopping, just take a closer look and you might very well bring home some free points. As with all parking lots, it is essential to look for the key colors red, blue, green, purple and silver. If you see any spots of these colors, go take a closer look.
Â
8) Construction Sites
Construction sites seems to have a force, which attracts bottles and cans. Look on the outskirts of the site, you don't even have to enter.Â
Â
9) The park
In our area the parks often has its own staff to ensure there is no litter, but on a Sunday evening or Monday morning, you will find the leftovers after all of the birthday parties and weekend guests.
Â
10)Â Gas Stations and 7 elevens
These often attract the coke points as well, so whenever you go scout the edges of the parking lot.
Â
Â
Other places to look for points:Family, friends, colleagues, elementary schools, sports games etc.

Â
Where do you find your codes?
What have you redeemed your points for?
If you are not doing so already, would you consider going on a cokerewards point walk?

What have you redeemed your points for? Eh. Just a couple magazine subscriptions
If you are not doing so already, would you consider going on a cokerewards point walk? Um yes and no. I WOULD, but that would mean making my husband drive me to some random location to do so. Not anything I'll be doing soon.
The only place I can walk is around a small 30-home park. All I'd find here is a dumpster and it is NOT worth digging through garbage. So..
I haven't redeemed my points yet...I have about 1200 so far.
I've gotten a TON of stuff:
6 free Blockbuster movie rentals
4 free movie tickets
Coca Cola plush bear (for my infant daughter - she LOVES it!)
2 sets of headphones for my iPod
I go for the free movie tickets these days - I can't afford to pay the NINE DOLLARS for a movie!
Strategies for Living With a Mental Illness Tip #1
I see a coke lid laying on the ground and I feel like I have just won the lotto.
Have a great gather day!!!!!!!!!!!!
I rarely find caps when I go out. But occasionally I do. When we were in Key WEst I came home with about 12 or so caps that I had found. David doesn't like it when I pick up a cap or a bottle with a cap on it up off of the ground.
I think that's absolutely great you pick them up and are helping the environment. I'm going to do better about looking around me. I can bring the bottles home and put them in my recycle bin.
Hubby was asking me what I was doing when I went walking away from him on the way in, and I showed him my coke cap and he just rolled his eyes, lol.
If he would have let me I would have looked over the whole parking lot for caps!
Sandra that's great that you donated your points. You are so lucky to be able to get a refund for the bottle as well...wow if only....then I would be rich by now.
Heather, I too pick up cans on my walks. To redeem the coke points you just enter the number under the cap at www.mycokerewards.com.
I pick up caps on the beach and while walking in the park.
Man I completely forgot about what my mil did this weekend. She was working on an Obama campaign project where they went into York City and cleaned up. I bet she found TONS of coke and pepsi bottles! I should have remembered and said something to her!!
I get all of my codes from work. I buy & fill up the coke machine at my work & get all of my codes from there.
Sometimes I will find 1 or two while on a walk, or in the WalMart parking lot.
Thanks for sharing - a great way to help the environment and yourself :)
