Do we care who gets the Nobel Peace Prize?
Surprize, it's Al Gore and the IPCC. So Al Gore is accepting this award on behalf of all of the international scientists who agree with him that the world is warming at an unprecedented rate.
Humanity, as it is presently, won't be able to survive for too many more generations.
Is that so horrible?
Will Al Gore take his Noble Peace prize and use it to try running for the presidency again?
Does the American people want a peaceful president?
Is it ironic that the peace prize was founded by the inventor of dynamite?

Al Gore's merits? Debatable. But Jimmy Carter won one too (2002) and there are many who debate his merits as well.
The only people whose opinions truly matter, in this case, are those on the committee that decides who will get it.
BTW... you have a few typos, might want to edit a little.
; )
you are a sad little man. Every question you ask is deceitful and lacking in understanding. I will not dignify your attacks on Gore with a reply. As to Nobel, sure he invented dynamite as well as explosives that have been used primarily in warfare. He chose to try to make something good out of something bad. You. by contrast, seem to always desire to make something bad out of something good.
Have a nice day!
It just made this award a meaningless award.
No, he wont
What a shame that Americans can hate their own people so much that they cannot even be happy when their achievements are recognized for an international prize. To all those people - you should be totally ashamed of yourselves. You have become spiteful and hateful human beings under this administration. This is what is bringing down this country.
And in that light, we need a TRUE leader in '08 - someone who is intelligent, well-spoken, knowledgable about the world and its problems, and believes in peace not war and has the fortitude to stand up for that and work with other countries. I'm SO SICK of the adolescent attitude of this administration that you answer every problem with bullying and violence. It's like I'm living in a perpetual, hateful Junior HS.
Apparently the bullying Sheryl mentioned does not fare so well on the international stage, eh? Gore and Bush went head to head . . . one is known now for denying science and war . . . the other for environmental awareness and peace. Gandhi was right . . . in the end . . . good always prevails!

The Peace prize was supposed to be award to people that have furthered the cause of Peace.
No matter what Al Gore has done in the past year, none of it has or had anything to do with furthering the cause of, brokering of anything related to Peace.
Do yourself a favor Gary, try bringing up your level of debating an issue to one that doesn't include smarmy personal attacks you don't live too far away for me to come up there and bitch slap you.
I guess if you don't think there IS a problem called Global Warming, then you really haven't done much research or even performed the intellectual exercise of what will happen to the world's populations over the next few decades when the effects of rising temperatures hits. Rising sea waters, engulfed farm land, crops withering, populations on the move looking for food and a safe place to live, etc. You can imagine how these kinds of situations can result in turmoil. I think the WORLD, not just Gore, is looking at these potential scenarios and trying to be pro-active in dealing with them.
THAT is where the aspect of peace comes in, at least in my thinking. Maybe others see some other angles.
I don't really plan to be around in 200 years. But some of you may have great great great grandchildren who may be roaming the planet.
A nuclear winter could have a chilling effect on the earth's climate, as could supervolcanic activity.
